They could`ve ended the whole thing with a bucket of gasoline instead of water. The resulting blaze would then be used to drop the liquid contents of an egg in a pan placed above it, therefore cooking the egg. Put a classic twist on things, instead of that lame boiling water thingy. Plus, breakfast would be served!

Nice Goldberg.

I`ve always liked the idea of these contraptions, and fire is a welcome twist. If this is a classic 80`s vid, then i`m glad it`s still cool now.

at least to me.

wow...um...pyromaniac, huh? i thought the ending was disappointing, though. i really wanted the end result to be lighting a match or sumthing like that. that would have been hilarious.

i was thinking the same as i was watching it, they probably restarted every phase at the fire, hence the cuts. If it worked as one long chain it would be one clip.

Too long and the ending was lame.
I see some kid attempting this and burning his house down.

It`s like Porno for Pyros. Not the band, but actual pyromania-pornography. A bit disturbing, but the blazing tetherball and tiny boat were pretty awesome.

Its from The Way Things Go.
Its more than an hour long.... they had to cut the camera somewhere.

This is from a German film called "Der Lauf Der Dinge" (The Way Things Go). The actual film is MUCH longer (30+ minutes), and has many more contraptions.

I didn`t like the way the camera zoomed in either... Who`d look that closely at a real fire? "Why, yes! I have always dreamt of char-broiling my own face! How did you know?"

"or maybe just smokes to much weed.....wait...is that possible?"

Yea... with any at all. Acting like a teenager is SOOOO "last year."

It`s not as good as the Japanese ones. And the bits where it zoomed in on the fire? This video cheats!

Must`ve taken a hell of a lot of coordination.
I`m impressed they didn`t go "yes!" every time something worked. I would`ve. ^.^

Jeez, this could be dangerous... I couldn`t tell whether they were inside or outside, but when the puddle of gas caught fire, it looked like the guy was getting way too close to the fire. But it was probably zoom, so whatever.
It was interesting to watch, but it got me wondering, how long did it take to make the "Fire Contraption"?

I Never trust a rube goldberg video where the camera cuts away like this. Yah, it may all work, but the idea is to have them all work on a single run, not piece together shots of 2 or 3 aspects of it working at a time.
