Top 20.

I know it didn`t mean much (FA Cup replay) but I was there. The applause was remarkable, as it grew louder when the goal was replayed, several times, inside the ground.

Obviously it won`t be in many fans` or game historians` lists but from a technical perspective it goes alongside Van Basten at Euro 88. That type of goal has been done similarly before, but just not as well.

He scored that goal and in the interview after the match, he dedicated it to a young boy who had died in the week before that match. He went to see him in hospital and said he`d score a goal for him.
He wasn`t alive to see it.

If you call it a soccer goal rather than a football goal, then it`s likely that you don`t understand the beauty of this goal.

He`s scored better.. More specifically for the Dutch at Euro `88.

it looked accidental despite the fact he ran from the other side of the box to get to the ball, makes sense.

"Sounds like a young Lord Alfred Hayes doing commentary.(Old wrestling fan)"

I remember Lord Alfred. He referred to the wrestling public as "commoners".

they should add another soccer ball to soccer. That would be way more interesting.

"
bah u call that the best goal? thats just an alright meh goal."

I dunno about you, but I think it`d be fairly difficult to intercept a corner kick in midair, and then launch it into the goal BEHIND you all before you touch the ground.

I have never seen the words "rainbow" and "soccer" together in a sentence before, so ummm, yeah...

Ah, Giofranco Zola... great player, wish he played for Man United. And Jaxley, Norwich were in the Premiership in 2004-2005 as well as back then, so... :p

If I remember correctly from my soccer days, that`s called a rainbow. Getting a moving ball and rainbowing it into a goal, if that is what he did, is pretty impressive.

that was nicely timed, but definetley not "the best goal ever." most of any team can do that.

Hmm, soccer sucks. And why are the majority of the players gay. (or at least definitly look to fit the part.)

maybe not the best as some ppl said, but that was great nonetheless. just the awareness he had and the perfect placement of the ball, incredible.

oh, and FLB, do you watch old russian movies? Cuz theres one where this kid gets a genie, and takes him to a soccer game, and the genie goes "hey, why are they all fighting over one ball" and gives them all a soccer ball and confuses them. good stuff

They weren`t in the Premiership jaxley (and they`ve been promoted and relegated since) - it was an FA Cup replay. 2002 I think. And as for Silva`s and Nakamura`s goals, anybody who thinks they were better obviously doesn`t know football - that particular Zola strike has been talked about in the top 10 of all time, by several sports writers - the technique and execution can only be pulled off by players of Zola`s calibre...

Thats a pretty damn good goal alright, but not the best, off the top of my head I think Maxi Rodriguez in the world cup? Or more recently David Silva against Chelsea, that was a goal!!!!

i remember that goal, apparently he told a terminal kid he visited in hospital a few days before (as footballers do from time to time) he`d score a goal for him and that was it. the mans a legend.

Hands up the number of i-am-bored members who were at that game (an FA Cup replay against Norwich 5 years ago)...

*raises hand*

One of the best goals I`ve ever seen live, but because it didn`t matter that much it won`t go down as one of the greatest of all-time.

certainly not the best, but very good skill. I didn`t realise that he flicked his legs over until the last replay.

I don`t like football.
If I had enough money, I would get loads of people to take footballs to a game, and then throw them on to the pitch, just to cause havoc and confusion, then I might watch a game.

Good goal, but not the best. Ryan Giggs` goal for Manchester United against Arsenal in the F.A. cup was so much better!
