Yes this is real. This is a real person that showed up to meet a kid to have sex, him being confronted by a reporter is real and asks him questions. He tries to lie, whatever, the reporter lets him walk away and then the police tackle him. It is real, watch the show sometime :|

If this commercial WAS real (which is isn`t) it advertizes to the large population of child molesters. And god knows how many people want to fly with them...

I just realized, if you haven`t seen a real Southwest Airlines commercial, you also would not understand the joke.
Real SWA commercial.

To paraphrase, in the recent series of SWA commercials, the main character does something dumb/embarassing, so much so that it is obvious the character does not want to be there anymore. Then the voice over says, "want to get away? Southwest has flights blah blah."

And, as others have already posted, in "To Catch a Predator," some dude gets caught trying to sexify a young girl. That is extremely dumb/ extremely embarassing. The joke is, wouldn`t THAT GUY like to get away?

It`s a mash of the two, and its quite clever if you ask me.

Hey SerFox, it`s not a real commercial. It`s a joke. Somebody combined a clip from a real show with a clip from an actual commerercial. What we see here is just a joke.

BigBonny (Page 1) You see, the US commercials are much like the current UK PS3 adverts.. hey don`t relate to what the product actually is. They just have to talk to the watcher at the end, put up a big shining pretty price with a dollar sign at the end, they don`t give a poo what else there is.

This advert doesn`t make any sense. American PR and Promotion companies suck at marketing. Seriously.

We did talk about this show in class. Its a bad and a good show. Good because its make the guys more "scared" to be caught. Bad because it doesnt solve any problem. They are not pokemons, you never gonna catch them all.

And to have been a GM before (Game Master and also Chatmoderator) I can tell you some girls are sneaky, and some guys too I must admit. And im not talking about USA here, im talking about Europe.

The 13 years old guy that give his MSN arround saying: "My parents are not home, im masturbating in front of my webcam, add me and come see me" wasnt a exception. Girls that wanted to have cyber sex with everything arround was a day to day problem.

The way to solve the problem is way deeper than just a show to catch guys that are so desesperate for sex that they will screw everything even underage.

Its a society problem, not a entertainement matter.

Kind of a weird ad... I`m pretty sure we don`t have anything like that tv show over here. Dunno if it would work in Europe

Actually, caffeinehigh, the show picks states in which it is a crime to simply solicit sex with a minor over the internet. So, these guys have commmitted a crime even before they show up to "meet" her. They just invite the guy over instead of going to his house to bust him because it makes for good TV and its easier to catch him.

That`s a great commercial which appeals to the 25-40 male pedophile market!

Female 285
The thing that confuses me about the show is if there is enough evidence to actually convict the guy. What if the guy claims that he is some sort of a vigilante who teaches young girls that they shouldn`t invite strangers into the house? I mean, in the eyes of the law, he hasn`t actually "done" anything yet...

"
this kind of tv shows are ruining the usa. peoples watching it are simply stupid."

Yes, catching child rapists is ruining the USA.

You are a bright lighthouse on the horizon for your people in Europe.

Stop talking while your not that far behind.

Yeah, it`s a fake ad.

As for the show, Dateline, combined with perverted-justice.com (the site that started the stings like this several years back, prior to getting the idea picked up by NBC), is doing something that, I think, is good. However, a lot of the cases brought forward during the show are borderline entrapment cases waiting to happen; the majority of the scumbags caught on the show do solicit the "child" from the getgo, however.

And there was one case in which the suspect did, indeed, shoot and kill himself when he realized he was going to be arrested for his actions.

Its very simple the show goes into a chat room to pose as a teen girl to atract men. they set up a meeting with the guys at a certan house the guy meets the "underage" girl she leaves the reporter comes out to interview him of why he came to meet a underage girl. when the guy leaves or runs he arested for soliciting to a minor. the dumb thing is alot of the later guys has seen the show and still did it lol

As explained, there is a show in the US where they go onto the Internet and pose as 13 or 14 year old girls in chat rooms and whatnot. When some guy 18 or older gets on the same chatroom and wants to meet to have sex, the TV show sets up a meeting. A 13 year old actress meets the guy, tells him her parents are out, and invites him over. When the girl goes to "slip into something more comfortable" that`s when the camera crew and the reporter come out and bust the guy on national TV.

This was a clip from the show...which someone edited together with the "wanna get away?" airline add.

There is no such ad, but the guy getting busted was real.
