"It dont take an f`in genius to work out who was reading the map!"

philippic, first of all, i resent that comment
and second of all, what the hell does that have to do with any of this?

Some of you people are so full of hate. Why? Those soldiers fight for their country, even if(and when) it is WRONG! We are not talking about Nazi Germany. We are talking about a democratic country. One that MAY be confused, in the sense of government.(I do not want to start a huge arguement) Not every single white supported apartheid. Remember.

Hmmm, i think that people that don`t like (or think that the idea is stupid or pathetic) seeing children be re-united with their fathers should go fùck themselves, you are "poorly educated lard as$es" if you think otherwise. It does not matter if he went out to "kill people", who gives a shìt?! That does not change the fact that a father surprises his kid by walking into to school after coming from wherever he was (My speakers broke) after a while is a good thing. Imagine if everyone you know left you for a long time, and did not come back, and you had no idea about their well-being or safety, then they walk in healthy and happy to see you. So don`t talk smack about something as good and happy as this.

It`s also stupid to claim that Canadians know shìt about the military in general and that America does not know shìt about their own army.

"solider" typo lol. I commented a few days ago, then only four pages. Now its 7 pages... And when people say that they hate children, that reminds me of people who hate newbs or noobs:
"Frack newbs/children"
"You were a newb/child once"
But seriously, what makes this more important than all those other children who actually LOST their parents/etc. At least this child`s parent came back.

To anyone representing Canada, please do not come on here defending our country only to ridicule its citizens. It is definately not the majority who think Quebecers or any french speaking canadians are any different from any other Canadians.(we have proved this by saying no to seperation) For me Quebec is another part that makes up our wonderful country and we need it. Canada`s history is very rich, the english and the french cooperating have managed to survive together in one country this long. Amazing:) Stereotypes about the english/french divide have been passed down for generations through our bigoted(although they probably didn`t recognize it at the time) parents."Indian giver" is another one which is absoloutely repulsive to me but my mother spews freely:( The good news is that the more aware of the discrimination we are, the more power we have to fight it. This generation and the ones to follow will heal the past wounds. Hoping helps.

Lol I cried like a baby, and I`m not usually a sucker for that kinda thing. I`m totally against the war in Iraq and I don`t support people signing up to fight against a fruitless cause. But even that said, when I saw the little boy running up crying and jumping into daddy`s arms, I was like wow. ("I missed you daddy!" omg) That is one lucky man. Whether he chose to fight or not, just imagine how that little boy felt to finally see him. I`m gonna go cry some more. Lol.

Wouldn`t you be overjoyed and inspired if your family came back after being away saving your butt for a long time (saying that your family situation is ok)? I would be crying my eyeballs out

these are very basic human emotions we`re looking at here...a son that misses his father, and the mother being strong for the both of them until he returns....nothing new here, wars have been fought for thousands of years...emotions have been with us since the dawning of time....A little awareness from the media is normal, they need to survive just like we do when we go to work everyday and make the buck. So really the reality is we serve our master the $ money...and this war is not over the endangerment of our own freedom but over blood and oil...Have you seen Blood Diamond? Well, welcome to Blood Oil.

they work in 8 hour shifts, and they find and select 6 more military officers every two years.

geez. even if it was a publicity stunt, the kid got his dad back after 7 months

my uncle (who`s now garaunteed to stay out of Iraq for two years because he`s the Marine attache to the president) was in Iraq a few years ago on two consecutive tours. He was there for well over a year before he got to come home.

i was bawling cuz i was so glad he was home. i mean, its my uncle of course i cried that hard, but i cant even imagine if it was my dad.

And i was touched... why? because this father ABANDONNED HIS SON for 7 months, like many others, broked his little heart and left for a country where he shouldnt even be in. Its a kid, a cute kid, which have his father sent to KILL PEOPLE.

and i remember saying the media want you to see happy army story... what about the father who never got back? what about the father who came back with a serious insanity case? what about the father who beat his wife? what about all the unhappy story?

yeah, you wont see those... after 7 months of pure deep sadness, the kid is fnnally happy... for the day... how can this be fair?

Oh and for the people saying `He left his family to go kill people`, good on him. You know, without the military we would`ve been drated. Though without our corrupt government this poo wouldn`t have to happen, but we just can`t help piss other omean personires off.

I don`t agree with war, I hate the thought of people being killed, but alas in this corrupt money and power driven social situation called first world politics it`s inevitable. Sad but true.

Without these people there would be no order, only chaos. With this, there is a small portion that is chaos. The media overhypes it, but that`s the emdia`s job.

I have a couple of things to say here. I don`t like kids, but keep reading. This was sweet, and I`m glad to see a family reunited throughout all the crap that`s happening at the moment. But I`m probably not the first to say this but.. this was a publicity stunt. I`m not being heartless, and it still couldve been a surprise, but because the fact they were shirt-miced (Watch and listen when they hug, everything gets muffled, that`s not an overhead mic). And the inclusion of the press also in this.
But again, nice to see a family reunited, sahme to see the media snatch it up as propaganda.

Il`hamdu Allah devi3000, I just read your posts about Canada and I think I fell in love.

Regardless of volunteer army or not, or what you think of the war, the son isn`t to blame for any of it, and didn`t make any of those choices that his father did. Seven months without his father means something different to him, that`s weekends and holidays and birthdays missed. So you guys shouldn`t be so mean about the little boy.

I cried like a little girl too when my dad came back from Iraq in `91. All you know is you miss him and he might not come back. And in all honesty for most of those men and women, the person who leaves doesn`t come back, the person who returns will be different.

There are always exceptions to rules, however, go ask a bunch of military men and women out there if they would like to go to Iraq or Afghanistan and be part of the effort and see what they say. You don`t need to to take my word for it, go ask some yourselves. We do not blindly follow our commander in Chief. We hear what he is saying and even if we disagree we are chomping at the bit to go! If you signed up for any military service for just college or a job and then get pissed because you have to go fight, then you should not EVER be able to serve my country. They asked me to go back, but I would have to extend my contract six months to go. I didn`t hesitate and I am leaving relatively soon.

Um...um. Um. Have you guys ever...y`know...heard of an army? You know what the army is, right? They don`t just form an army when there`s a war. People aren`t like "Hey! A War! Okay, let`s round up some soldiers..."

Ever heard of like, the reserves? Where the army helps you pay for college (helpful to people who can`t afford it) while training you near home, so that when there`s need, they can pull you away? There was no foretelling getting pulled into the war, but when a soldier`s called, he has to go, whether he`d rather stay home with his kid or not.

That`s kind of like saying, "Geez, so what a miner was trapped in a cave-in for three days. It`s his fault for wanting to be a miner." Well, yeah. I guess when anything bad happens, it`s our fault for allowing it.

fact is, we need an army. We need one, in order to protect ourselves. I`m not saying the war is protecting us, or that it`s a good idea, but that`s why we need an army, and THAT`S why so

Micheal don`t be daft. No matter if he signed up before the war or not. He signed up to defend our country. Whether that be in a time of war or not. Part of signing up for the military is understanding that you may not agree with the reasons of war, but you took that oath.

"The last I checked, Canadians have been putting themselves in harms way in Afghanistan for years now. The last I read, they`ve committed more money and more men, and little girls are actually beginning to get let back into schools again."

I never said they didn`t dippoo.

One of you is probaly the bastard protesting the war by calling my brother a baby killer after he came off the ship-just a note not the best thing to say when surrounded by a company plus of Marines- hopefully someone well feel this way about me after I enlist. A war is a war is a war people die get over it! Nobody really gives a poo what you think about the war or the pres or any of that. The only thing that matters is that a father was away from his son for 7 months in a pooty situation. I really doubt the guy gives two flying craps about what you think about him. To his son he is prob the biggest hero in the world. And just because he didnt get a limb blown off that doesnt mean he is deserving of a thank you? Are you that ignorant? So easy to talk poo about an orginization that you know absolutely nothing about.

Ok, My bad, the video said he WAS in Iraq. But, that still doesn`t change most of my rant. The man did what he was told to do by his superiors. That`s how things are in the Millitary. And yes, I cried a little when the boy ran to his dad, who he obviously looks to as a hero. I say again, Thank God the man came home safe.

They didn`t start this crap, the bastard president did with his blood thirst for oil and "strategic domination". Thank God this sailor came home safe and thanks to him for being willing to sacrafice for my freedom. It`s because of men and women like him that the USA is the baddest, most awesome country in the world. And if you don`t agree with that statement, I DON`T GIVE A SH*T!!

"We didn`t draft for this war, YOU SIGNED UP FOR IT! What comes along with signing up in the military? Money, education, education funds, experiences you will get no where else, job opportunities, long amounts of time away from home, and DEATH! If you don`t to be away from your family for that long, or if you don`t want to die in a war, then don`t drating sign up, that easy. Don`t sign up then start a family and get all pissed off when you get deployed. It`s a job that you signed up for."

What makes you think this Sailor signed up to fight the Iraq war? How do you know he didn`t get sent to Afganistan? How do you know he wasn`t already in the Navy before our dipsh*t president attacked anybody? Maybe he expected that there would be a reason if we were to go to war. Maybe he was already in service when all the stupid crap from the stupid president went down. Just because we don`t support this bullsh*t war or our president, doesn`t mean we shouldn`t support the troops.

Pfft. At least get your stereotypes straight, moron.

The last I checked, Canadians have been putting themselves in harms way in Afghanistan for years now. The last I read, they`ve committed more money and more men, and little girls are actually beginning to get let back into schools again.

P.S. Candians are Borsch eating, beer guzzling, mullet wearing, wood choping, french, dairy tax spended, idiots. God forbid anyone goes to war with the Canadians, those mounties are more lame than Canada`s so called border patrol. Want to bust into the states to blow something up in the name of Jihad, GO THROUGH CANADA!

groogle, man take it easy. just enjoy the nice family moment without bringing all the politics into it. everyone understands that some people support the war and some dont. but a person can still enjoy this clip regardless. plus then you get guys like Tjames rambling about our military and stuff.

Tjames, our army is smaller because our population is smaller. It doesnt mean we know less about the war. man its like im talking to high school freshmen!.....oh wait.

"Hey groogle, your country barely has a military. You really dont know much about the war do you?"

Funny you should say that, seeing as Americans know very little about their own country, while Canadians know a poo load more. So, my guess is that most Canadians know a hell of a lot more about the military than the poorly educated lard as$es that make up this country.

Yes, america has a 30-35% obesity rate. Plus america is a bit spoiled. Why? Cause we have everything good, a rich country, a powerful military. America is a symbol of the west, believe me my fellow students do not know much about the world we live.
"Africa is a country" "I dont know a country that starts with a z"

I guess thats why you get when you live several thousand miles from the main populated areas. America is a large country with a large population. America has been the spotlight for years, we arent really willing to spend much on school funding as of yet.

I laughed.

The guy left his son behind to go kill people ( like killing people is more important then fathering his own son ) and he has nothing better to do then to use his own son for patriotic purpose.

Pathetic.
