Oh Cy, don`t take it so hard (sorry for the late response). By the way ManyMasks, if you`d read my post you`d realize your conclusion had been preceedingly supported.

Light-mile is not a unit of distance, correct. It is the time taken for light to travel one mile. Since light travels at approximately 186,000 miles per second, it takes light about .00000576 seconds to travel one mile. (Correct my significant figure count if I`m wrong.)

3381.7, I`m Jon on that list.

A light mile is a unit of time, not distance.

A light-minute is the distance light travels in a minute, which by the figures you give works out to 17,987,547.5 kilometers, or 11,176,944 miles. That`s a "distance-quantitative measurement" like any other.

Now that I`ve played again, the phrase `light minute` isn`t mentioned ANYWHERE; I only thought it was `cause at first I was concentrating on maintaining Ludicrous Speed without exploding (lot of good that did me) and all I saw was (# LM/s). So I assumed, and posted my assumption, thereby making myself wrong. But right at the same time. Hm.

Anyhow, after flying through 10 sectors I saw exactly ONE bomb pod (in sector 2), and I couldn`t pick it up either.

But yes, you are correct in that it is not a distance-quantitative measurement specific unto its own. Which makes R-U kinda wrong, in that the video-game uses this distance-measurement in exactly the wrong context!

By the way, how the f*ck am I supposed to absorb Bomb-pods?

Light-miles could be counted in seconds however, Lauren, despite your protests... 0.000005 seconds is the time for which it takes light to travel a mile.

R-U-Kidding? You are absolutely-right! A light-minute exists just as much as a light-year. Let`s take it in meters: if light travels at 299,792,458 meters-per-second, then one light-year is equivalent to 9.4605284 × 10 to the 15th meters. If we divide that by the amount of weeks per year, generally 52, then we get the quotiont of 300,966,753,154,253.2 meters-per-week.

It`s `light minute,` not `light mile.` Just as there are lightyears, there are lightmonths, lightweeks, etc. all the way down to lightminutes and so forth.

I like the music too, but I hit a space rock and blew up real good. :-( Stupid clock-pilot-thing.

^ a light mile doesn`t exist, they might mean light years, or maybe months, or any other time, which means the distance light travels in a year. so that`s a lot.

Whats the difference between a regular mile and a "light" mile? Aren`t they the same distance?
