"or maybe! HE JUST PUT LIKE 5-10 CENTS LESS THAN THE REQUIRED AMOUNT!"

4 dollars and 50 cents came out, I don`t think that all four of those selections would be over 4.50, and it can`t be 5-10 cents less because it goes by 25`s and quarters is what came out.

at the begining he doesnt push the change lever all the way down, maybe he stuck something at the bottom of the hole.
But in the end he pushed it all the way down" or maybe! HE JUST PUT LIKE 5-10 CENTS LESS THAN THE REQUIRED AMOUNT!

the machine didnt look like it was plugged in so when he moved the camera down to the coin return he probably put the money in so it fell right out... cause if the machine is unplugged the coins will just drop right out

note: if you know someone who puts the cans in those sweet little coke machines, you can "borrow" it and use it to do awesome stuff with the coke machines. put in the code, then put in and turn the key, open it and there is a button inside. press it. :-) then you can do things like change the price of drinks to 1 penny each, get free drinks, and expel all the money inside it. :-)

Actually this does work , i started doing this way back in `78 . I slowly moved from country to country always one step ahead of interpol , taking assumed identities and slowly accruing a vast amount of money .

I gave up after 20 years or so , and bought myself a tropical island lair , a`la Scaramanga .

I eventually sold my island retreat to that idiot who produces the "girls gone wild" movies , and now spend my time looking at crap like this on the internet.

this could work...but not for everyone...most of these soda machiene tricks work only on some....last year a bunch of kids found a flaw in the new soda machienes we got at school...if you put a 5 dollar billinto the machiene the LED display would start counting to $5 one quarter at a time and if you hit the change return button right b4 it hit 5 bucks it would spit out your 5 and the amount of change shown...drating kicked ass and now all of them have a sign that says no $5

I`M GONNA TRY THIS. PAYBACK FOR ALL THE MONEY I`VE HAD GOBBLED UP BY SOME BTCH ASS MACHINES.

USUALLY I BANG ON THEM FOR A WHILE THEN GIVE THEM A BADASS DRAGON KICK. THAT`S WHAT THEY GET FOR STEALING MY CHANGE.

"he puts change in like... whatch at about 20 seconds into it you see him put something in there. He wouldn`t have gotten the drink in this case cause he put it in after he pressed the button."

Um, no you don`t. You see him try to pull the lever and slipping. Pay attention, the coin slot is on the other side frickin side of the machine.

"Why the f would a coke machine be programmed to spew the money out of the slot? For kicks? There is no practical function."

You know, I`ve heard there`s this magical thing some people do, called "testing machinery and computers." It sounds scary, I know. But some people actually do it.

"There are no "codes." Idiots.
If the machine owners want to change the prices, test the machine, etc, they open it up and access the computer inside.

I know because I`ve worked with drink machines.
Why the crap would anybody have to program a machine using the drink buttons when they can just open it up?"

Because of the convenience. My school love to change the products in our snack machines all the time and so the prices are wrong usually 3 or 4 times a month. All we have to do it tell them and they hit the button displaying the price and if it doesn`t match the sticker they punch in a 4-6 digit code and change it.

I am talking about the ones with the letters and numbers. a for row and # for collum.

gets flushed out every so often depending on how busy the phone is. If you snip that wire then it doesn`t drop the money into the pit and using that little lever thing it will spit out all the money in the reserve slot.

Now these pay phones area couple years old 5-10 and most have been replaced due to people finding out about this so finding one would be hard.

Dont know about that but with the code you could change the price to a quarter. In some of the older coke machines, the ones with the green bottle and the conveyor belt, you could hold the door shut and get 2-? sodas for the price of one. It all depends how fast you are at grabbing the soda before it trips the sensor.

The code I was talking about does work. It is how stores program the price of the item in the machine.

Now as for using a code to drop out the box. It is possible but you would probably have to open it up and mod it. I am guessing it works like a phone booth phone thing. Forgot what they are called. Anyways there is a couple wires that do things on the phone. 2or 3 connect power, ground that stuff, one connects your call and one connects to a server type thing that tells the phone the call went through. When you enter change in the machine it will hold it in a tiny box that only holds like 5 or 6 dollars. Once the call goes through it drops it into a bigger tank that

I reckon this is pretty legit! I remember once a couple of years ago I was at a hotel. I went down to the vending machines and everything was at different prices. Most were normal but duplicates of the same product were down at 10 or 20 pence (in Scotland)

It makes sense now....!

I`ve never gotten it to work on those old machines with the buttons on the left in a column like that. I`ve seen it done with those new coke machines (The one with the gargantuan mega sized buttons). I can`t remember the code, but I did manage to get to a debug menu. Couldn`t get it to give me free drinks though.

Male 366
it could work, but given that different models of machine take different codes for stuff, and the obvious fact that there`s no purpose for this other than abuse, i doubt very much if it works.

but (this one works) if you press 4-2-3-1 you can see the menu thingy in it. you can check no. of sales and other misc. stuff. some machines left `unlocked` will let you change prices or the message (`enjoy an ice cold coke`, or whatever it is).

i tried this about two years ago and it worked but it was a different code. i think it was...4213...or 4231. yeah the last one sounds right. when you enter the code, the little screen that used to show the price now turns into a menu, and you can get free soda and change the price of it.

I am so trying this at school tomorrow.

Random anecdote: my friend and I went to the machines and the guy who loads it or whatever was there, loading it. Then he went away. Then we tried to get some snacks, but it wouldn`t take our money, so we banged on the buttons and it malfuctioned or something and kept giving us free Bugles and Doritos. The loading guy came, so we quickly hid the bags behind us and under our shirts. My friend made up and excuse and told him it wasn`t giving us anything and he was like, "It`s not ready yet!" Ha. We walked off and feasted. Yay.

PS,there is a secret code that gets you into a secret menu on some coke machines. It only works on machines that say "intellivend 2000" near the screen (you`ll see) and most newer machines. To do this, press 4-2-3-1 and you should see EROR come up on the screen (no that`s not a typo). Although the menu navigation buttons can be different on some machines, in most cases pressing 1 exits, pressing 2 moves up in the menu, pressing 3 moves down in the menu, and pressing 4 selects the current option. This is the "debug" menu, you can see errors, how much the machine has made, etc. The only thing you can`t do is get free soda, free change, etc. Go and try it out I`m not BSing you.

oops, i didn`t read the other responses before i posted. i guess it is legit. again, i am tempted to play with it just b/c i want to know the code...i just don`t want to actually steal the money. i know most vending machines are owned by individuals or small operations. it`s totally not cool to take their $$!
gah but i am curious...stupid devil on shoulder/angel on other shoulder issues!

I just went to the vending machine downstairs and tried it - no go. I didn`t try multiple combinations, though because
1. I don`t want to steal from the companies if it works; I`m mostly curious.
2. The machine is in a semi-busy place and I didn`t want to look sketchy.
I`d say plausible but highly unlikely.
Althoooough, the people who own the machine generally open them up to get change, no? I think the best way to see if this is likely is to see the legit way of emptying the machine. If there isn`t a release mechanism, then this is clearly 100% bunk.

I see a lot of you morons think it`s fake. It`s not. The first 4 (Or 6 depending on the model) are code buttons. You can see how much money has been put into the machine, see how much soda is loaded into each slot, get change, and error the machine out if you type in the right codes.

There are different codes for each model. Pepsi machines usually have 6 numbered codes. Old coke machines usually have 4.

Me and my friends do this all the time down at the mall. We even got kicked out once for getting caught.

Just about every store owner or whatever will change the codes every so often. To keep that from happening. Even soda machines at schools get the codes changed now.

Unless you have the time to sit at a soda machine punching in random codes for a hour. Don`t try it, because each machine will probably have a different codes or number of code buttons.

I would try it, but I worry that someone would see me and report it to the police. I know it sounds silly, but I see stickers that say "Stop thief, change is emptied every day" or something like that. If they put stickers like that on machines, I`m sure somebody would care. I wonder if the Law Enforcement knows about this.

I wouldn`t doubt it would work for an old machine like the one in the video. Some of those machines can`t even tell the difference between a quarter and a penny. I once spent four cents on a drink. You know how most machines say to use only nickels, dimes, and quarters? Sometimes you can use pennies; it will just think it`s a nickel or more. So you wouldn`t be stealing like in the video; you`d be getting a "discount".

If it does work. There would be 256 combination if you could use each number more than once (4x4x4x4) and 24 if each could be used once only (4x3x2x1). That is for the password combination the commands would be different. Commands have a possible of 1024 combinations for 5 numbers used more than once.(4x4x4x4x4) Some math for you. ;-)

It made perfect sense to me, to try different combos to try to access the code. not ALL machines will have the same one, obviously! So It could work, just try different codes!! Dont be so harsh on everyone who says its true, or that they`ve gotten money out of it. just because it doesnt work for YOU, doesnt mean it hasnt worked for THEM.

Rhenretta: Magic codes are on almost all electronic devices. How else can we techs troubleshoot them? What about making free calls on payphones? Would the phone companies allow that? They didn`t allow it. The phone manufacturer built that in so the functionality of the pc board could be tested.

Of course the vendors, the juke-box companies, the phone companies, the cable company, the auto manufacturers don`t want you to know.

Like your car: It has a diagnostic function in it`s computer. Your dealer charges $100 to hook their computer to your car to see what`s wrong. The neighborhood shop charges about $50 for the same. Advance auto sells a device for around $40 to do that. However, if you follow the ignition-key sequence for your car make in the Haynes or Chilton`s manual, your dashboard will blink out the same code for free with the Check Engine light. Why would Ford, Chevy, Honda do that when they could make $100 a pop? So their mechanics can read the code out on the road.

Hey, how about you leave Knox alone? Who cares if he`s lying or not! Look at some of the people`s ages here! Almost everything said online is a lie! Anyway, I tried this once. I got into the root menu of the machine, but I couldn`t change anything or activate the coin dump.. :( It all depends on if you find the programmer`s combination. try 4132-****. Whoever posted this video found a machine that still had it`s factory code.

This works if the vending company did not change the default password on the machine. Ever seen those door locks where there are 5 buttons that you enter the combo to? This is like that. Where I used to work, they never changed the code on that lock. You could get into the super-secret IT server room by pushing 2 and 4 together, release, then press 3. This is the default code that is on the lock when sold. The owner is encouraged to change it in the instructions, but no one ever does.

I worked for a vendor for 2 years. The other posts were right: 4321 is the security code. 12311 is a function to test. There are other functions, too. You can have it spit out any of the cans or bottles the machine vends. This helps troubleshoot. I`m glad you all think it`s baloney, because you wouldn`t be taking money from Coke, you`d be taking money from the vendors. Stealing twinkies from 7-11 doesn`t hurt Hostess, because 7-11 has to pay for the Twinkie, regardless. Same thing.

The only thing false about this post is the "works everytime" in the title.

It works-you just have to figure out what the code is-and the code is always a combo of the first 4 buttons. I know one code for a soda machine in my dorm-the only problem is you have to sit there and press all the combinations to figure out what it is.

So to all the people saying it`s fake-you are wrong. It does work, just not on all models, and you have to know the combo.
