Bike Bell Prank

Submitted by: buddy 10 years ago in Entertainment

People in Japan jump to side of the road when they hear bell, even without a bike. This would get you beat up in the US.

wow, i wish that worked here. anywhere with a lot of people usually means old or stupid people walking slow or just plain stopping. especially at school where all the `gangstas` gravitate into one clump in the most annoying place possible.

..Why would you get beat up in the US? Do people in the US really enjoy getting hit by bikes?

That guy spent pretty much the whole time saying "Please" and "Sorry". That`s probably why they moved, he was asking them to. XD

Americans don`t respond to bells, they respond to fingers. But by that time, it`s too late -- the damage has been done. :)

You know guys. I don`t speak Japanese, but I assume that was just showing that you can let someone know you want to pass by ringing a bell. I don`t think they thought it was a bike, they just realized someone was trying to get past them. If you say someting to them, do you really think they would know you`re talking to them? They would just think you`re talking to someone else and ignore you.

do that in the US and we`d be like " what the hell? who rides a bike? they and steer their asses around us" *keep walking how we were*

I would probably jump out of the way if there was a crazy person ringing a bell behind me. I`ll admit it.

This is going to be like the kid who cried wolf, all the bussiness men are going to use these to get around faster then people are going to stop paying attention then WHAMO a string of bike related deaths cause them to be more cautious, but then some clever bastard tries it again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Fall of eastern civilisation.

I am truely bored.

WOW! You guys, I don`t think the person who worked at the store or the guy on the escalator moved because they thought a bike was passing, it`s COMMON COURTESY. It would be pretty rude to just stand there when someone is clearly suggesting he would like you to move.
Besides, who knows what the guy on the escalator or the person working in the store thought. He could have been mute or have a serious speech Impediment....I bet some of the people on the street were thinking the same thing, except for the ones who were a bit quick to move to the side.

I think everyone should carry around a bell as and ring it if they`re in a hurry so everyone knows to move. Instead of the old fashioned "MOVE IT OR LOSE IT" I wonder what the peoples reactions where after they saw that nobody was riding a bike.
