I never pulled all nighters for studying in high school, I only did it for essays and projects. Oddly enough, I typically got better marks is I did my work during an all night than if I spent weeks working on it. Case in point, I did a project on Othello I`d had two months to work on in the last 16 hours before it was due. I got 97% percent. I did an essay on Roman culture over 3 weeks of careful planning. I got a C+.

I start college in the fall, so I`m sure I`ll be revisiting this page before too long. *bookmarks*

Yeah, at my second wind is my "I love corn on the cob" session.

I usually have about an hour of just totally goofing off in an all nighter, and it`s actually around that time.

This`ll prove to be REALLY useful for me becuase
a: I take horrible horrible notes.
and
b: I doubt I`ll pay much attention once I get into college.

Plus half way through one, you start acting weird lol. I ventured to a place called Abble Land once, where people had to be Bear Aware.

See, all nighters mess with your head.

Useful.
I never get the recommended hours of sleep anyway.
It is weird though waking up after 45 minutes of sleep feeling all bright and fresh and not tired in the slightest.

Ugh... I hate all-nighters. I did a couple myself. I`m one of those people who can`t have just 8 hours of sleep, but 11 on average. I mean... yesterday I got sick and ended up sleeping around 17 hours. O.o

Usually, when necessary, I sleep then wake up an hour or two early and start working.

Also, fyi, I`m a freshman in college and so far it`s WAY easier than High School.

Woah, i had an all night a week ago, and I was doing the same thing! or at least something very close to that. i think i was starting to talk like the people who go GRAMEESHLAFROMPUSTAIKLAGHGHGREN!

^^Yeah, you can`t get by on just going to class and taking notes in college and expect to do well. You have to study. College is a LOT harder than high school.
Plus you`ll get times when you have a hundred things to do in 3 days, then three weeks of nothing.

A couple weeks ago I pulled off all-nighters back to back, with no sleep in between. I consider it my greatest scholarly ahievement, even if I did get C`s on both tests.

Not the most amazing study, but still, it can help a fair bit. Can`t wait `til college and I`m doing these. I`ll just stick with my 3 hr cramming sessions for my little high school test for now.

As far as I`m concerned, all-nighters mean parties.

I had pretty good luck with all-nighters in HS and in college, I think they can be pretty helpful.

I`ve only done this a few times. You never want to do it, but sometimes you have no choice. Once I had 3 tutorial groups in a week and ended up doing 4 all-nighters in a row. While I did quite well in the classes, I wouldn`t recomend it, as it REALLY messes with your body for about the next week (and makes you really suck at sports that weekend.)

Useful info. All-nighters are good ways to get homework done. I generally stay up all night once or twice a week and sleep 15 to 16 hours twice a week, balance is important.

BTW: Jeffkodine, I do better off of all nighters because that`s my established habit. And I also don`t have a set circadian rythm, but I need to get one.

So it depends on the person, and this is for those last minute cram sessions for people who haven`t made vows to their textbooks.
