"List of why this is total crap:
STRTLING
SARTLING
STATLING
STARTLNG
STARTLIG
STARTLIN
- all not words, and there are plenty more on the next pass."

The point is to be able to make words from "startling," of course you could make gibberish but the cool thing is that you can actually make real words from the one word. You can`t do that with many of the words in the language. "Planets" is another one. (Planets->Planet->Plane->Plan->Pan->An->A)

dilldog123 - I think you`ll find that the word `rhythm` has no vowels, and is actually a word, rather than shhh which is, according to dictionary.com only used an abbreviation.

Didn`t you sing the song when you were little?
"a e i o u and sometimes y!"

What`s more interesting to me is all of you who state how boring/unentertaining/pointless/etc. this is, yet took the time to comment as if it bore any credibility to your observation. As with many, many other posts, it was interesting enough to make you watch it, let alone to comment on it. At the end of the day, mission accomplished.

Oh, and I got another way to do it:
Startling, Starting, Tarting, Taring, A-ring, Ring, Rig...Ri (relative of Pi), and I.

And anyone else notice the cough in the background when he removes the n? Priceless.

"Shh" is an onomatopoeia. As long as we`re accpeting them as words, "tch", "pfft", etc. are all words lacking vowels.

It`s a sign, everything is going to start being startling, even string. To sing would be a sin, staring would be more of a stinging, and then there will be an I in team, OH NO!

haha.. I used all the words.. How about them apples?

"Each time you remove a letter from the word, it remains a word."

A letter, not any and all letters. There`s a difference, for those of you that are acting like he claims you can remove any letter and make it work and think you`re proving him wrong.

And I`m with Overmann. I thought the letters would be removed from right to left or vice versa, not throughout the word.

Now I kind of feel like going through the dictionary and finding one that would work the way I thought this would.

Sure he didn`t specifically say you`re supposed to remove them in a certain order, but after watching the video it`s kind of safe to assume you are, isn`t it?

I think this guy sounds like Demetri Martin, the comedian. And I find it interesting. It`s just a video, geeze, calm down. Some of you are acting like it`s a travesty that whoever it is made a video for it. I`ve seen less intelligent videos.

bigking444: Yeh. Why?

...aight, it`s interesting to know... but that video couldn`t have rubbed me more wrong. It`s not dramatic (I`m agreeing with what someone else said) so don`t -make- it dramatic.

And don`t come off like this is some great discovery that will advance human life. Ok, so you know a tidbit of trivia... you felt so important knowing this that you had to make a video about it?

...what does that say about the person who made this?

Unless I`m completely wrong and this was originally made for a class.. something.. or other. Teachers make you do some weird shyte these days.

All those little triviality, all together, are useless... I dont think that knowing that will ever save my life, or make me rich ...

BUT!

Its fun to know. In fact, someone was smart engouh to discover that. Irs vocabulary, its may not seem as fun to you as "CocaCola can have up to 6 faces hiden in the letters, including one sniffing coke and another one smoking" (true story, try being bored and take lots of drugs, then you will have nothing else to do then finding those faces, teenages years was longs >.>)

But all those little triviality are just cute to know... Elephants are the only animal which cant jump... all the opposite face of a dice ( i know its

die ) equal 7...

not usefull in your life, just fun facts... >.>
