it was the sword that made it go from only vaguely interesting to cool for me

That`s kinda gay because first of all they it doesn`t work, secound of all they wasted a perfectly good robot arm, and last of all it makes me feel bad that i can`t even afford a wii let alone a wiimote and a robotic arm.

Thats not connected to a wii :/

Thats:
Wiimote >> Bluetooth >> PC >> Program >> Robotic arm... Nothing hard, providing you have the robotic arm

No if these guys can attach the are to a walking robot and hook up a machine gun to it, then we`d have something to talk about

^Uh, I don`t see why debugging exact pattern to pattern movement would be difficult at all. The hard part is making your movements control the game in a rational way.

The Wii remote can SENSE your movements exactly. But it doesn`t replicate them, not with the current games you can buy.
Can you imagine how huge the debugging process would be to have an EXACT pattern to patten movement?
For now, the Wii games can accept and read the movements, similarise them to a pre-inputted motion line, and carry out whatever the gamer wants.

So you can buy a Wii, because it isn`t the CONSOLE that doesn`t read exact movements, it`s only the current games.

Also, this was a pretty awesome robot thing. A litle pointless, but fun all the same.

I was saying that the link wasn`t bad, it is just another excuse to hate on the Wii. Maybe you should actually read the post (and the one it refers to) so next time you feel the need troll around, you won`t look like a douche.

This video shows nothing of how the Wii "accepts" movements controls. I think you`ll be pleasently surprised when you try it. also ... this was really pointless. I stopped at the guy getting hit too.

Yeh Groogle Just sayin that the Wii Really does replicate your movements
worth buying

^Groogle: What, is this like the only video of a Wiimote you`ve seen? A. The Wiimote has very exact motion sensing, B. This video is only of gesture-based control, which is SIMILAR, but not the same, and C. THIS IS NOT A GAME. They made that in their spare time. Therefore, there`s a teeeeensy chance that`s not the same thing as what you`d get in a game.

that long delay sucked.
while the wii responds pretty much instantaneously, their program doesnt interpret until just under a second later. knowing anything, the wii prolly analyzes the user`s motion a lot more, too.

As for the video, it`s interesting enough that they turned a Wii controller into a robot controller, but I stopped watching after the one guy got hit by the tennis ball.

This is exactly what I wanted to see about the Wii.

Now I know that the Wii has a very basic movements recognition programation. I was expecting it since it`s basicly just a gamecube with a different controller.

I will need to try the Wii before I buy it now because im not sure im going to like it if it can`t easily replicate my movements.

It`d be cooler if the moves didn`t have to be pre-programmed into the `bots computer.

Hey, almost looks like the robots my dad used to build...although they were used for more useful things...like painting the bodies of cars.

OH! and I wonder if this thing could overcome that blue thing that guy built, posted on ehre earlier, that shot out tennis balls? ! o:
