dancing is a form of expression, whether or not you are moving "one`s feet or body, or both." i believe that this man is expressing himself against scathing remarks from people, and examples are comments on IAB. i believe this man is better than anyone who posted a derogatory statement.

Dance:
1. to move one`s feet or body, or both, rhythmically in a pattern of steps, esp. to the accompaniment of music.

As far as I can see, he did neither..

what`s also funny is how people haven`t mentioned that it really depends on what exactly has caused this man to be in a wheelchair... the man has legs, so what if it`s a different condition, one that friends who are in wheelchairs don`t have? [it`s a possibility.] it`s obviously a long term one, otherwise he wouldn`t be in a contest. but if it`s like... a major thing, it could be that it`s a miracle that he`s moving at all, let alone ballroom dancing like that.

maybe.

I love the retarded comments on here.

Devi3000:
"YOUR IN A WHEELCHAIR GET OVER IT"

He is, you worthless sack of skin. He`s dancing in a f*cking contest for God`s sake.

The Wabbit and Groogle:
"HE JUST DID THE SAME THING I KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN DO THIS"

Thats the difference between them and him, he actually does it instead of being depressed that he`s in a wheelchair.

I`m sure there`s alot more idiots here but I don`t have the time or care to point out how retarded they sound.

Wowm that was pretty cool, I do not understand why some people are criticizing others for their thoughts on this though? Pointless...

When we were little, my mom`s friend gave us a wheelchair. It was the greatest thing to play with, ever.

I liked it cause the chick flipped her skirt up...That was lovely. Both can dance better than me, and I`m not in a wheelchair...Although, I got this little pregnancy waddle that reminds me of a penguin that could pass as...pathetic

"I liked the response of the audience the best--they were whooping and cheering when he came out, as if to say they supported him. Maybe they`d do that for any pair of dancers, but it was kind of sweet. :)"

To those of you who posted saccharine remarks like that: Do you realize how condescending you`re being?!

It`s just about as "nice" as saying, "I think he speaks very well....for a black man." Yeah, that`s not really a compliment, is it?

People in wheelchairs just want to be treated like everyone else. Don`t kiss arse and feel sorry for them. The last thing they want from you is pity.

To all the people who are flaming: you`re a.ssholes. It`s quite plain and simple to see, you probably suffer from a small penis, and small brain size to think that someone doing this requires no-talent is like saying real dancers require no talent.

I find this is a sad commentary on society. People should be proud of him, and not mock him. Even if the kid just drew all day what he saw and it was mediocre work that`s better than killing yourself like many would do given such a sh.itty situation.

"That was stupid and it pained me to watch. You are in a wheelchair get over it!"

You see, it`s people like you that I hate. You`re saying if you were in a wheel chair you would just give up on something you like and not challenge yourself. This guy is obviously a hero not only for getting the courage to go out there and do his thing, but because he can do what he can do, and he`s in a wheelchair. Silly little girl, he`s accomplished more than you could.

i`m laughing at all those people saying that it is amazing, upper body strength, etc.

it`s just like anything else, just takes practice. I didn`t say i could do it, but if i was in a wheelchair and had classes i could. anyone could. being in a wheelchair obviously gives you a lot of upper strength.

I`d hate to be your girlfriend. I`m guessing you probably cheat on her because she`s invalid...and you`re not.

Kudos.

To any one who criticized this-have you any idea the amount of upper body strength it takes to spin that fast in a wheelchair? I can only imagine a hell of a lot, not to mention the balance needed for the wheelies! Its probably allot more psychically demanding than regular dancing.

Those with derogatory statments about not being impressed need to put themselves in their place for just a moment. I have a few friends whom I know that are in a wheelchair, that still dont let it bring them down. To have them in my life and be around them can be inspirational when you consider the fact they dont consider it a handicap...for the most part.

I`d like to see all the people who thought this was nothing try to do a wheelie in a wheelchair. As someone who has tried, and watched countless friends try and end up falling on their backs, I can tell you it`s hard.

It looked like he liked dancing. :) He was good. He had good rhythm.
