OverTheMoo: The guy on the tracks was having a seizure. The hero didn`t just move him to a safe position, but held him down to stop him from flailing his arms during the seizure when the train was over them.

Anyways... it looks like he really did make an informed decision after all, it wasn`t just a fluke or a suicidal impulse. (Comment about certain comments from previous threads.)

I think he had all his superpowers in his blue hat. That is why he got so upset about losing it.

"IF THE GUY WOULDN"T HAVE SAVED THE MAN THAT FELL, THE STORY WOULDN"T HAVE MADE NEARLY AS MANY HEADLINES!"

Of course not, people die every day, people don`t jump on some tracks to save another person every day.

As someone who has seizures I feel the need to point out that you should never EVER do that. NEVER try to open a seizing person`s mouth or put your fingers anywhere near their mouth. When a person is seizing every muscle in their body is seizing up, including their jaw. You risk losing a finger if you try to "clear their passageway". It`s very very rare that someone will choke on their own tongue while seizing. The best thing you can do is roll them on their side and support their head to prevent injury. Leave their mouth ALONE.

Oh never mind I should have read this thread first! Well that was nice of him to save that guy. They should give him a new blue hat.

I don`t understand ... what happened to begin with? I mean it sounds like he saved someone but I don`t know what happened, was someone jumping or fell on the tracks or something? Seems like a cool guy though, reminds me of someone I knew in college.

I think you`re confused. The Subway Superman, after being told he was a hero, modestly said that he didn`t consider himself as such, and that the real hero`s were the troops in Iraq.

It was not the guy who was saved who said it.

And by the way, this guy is a REAL HERO. He risked his own neck to save the life of a complete stranger just for the sake of decency. The magnitude or duration of the act of heroism does not make the deed any more or less heroic.

Kinda makes one sad that in a few weeks this`ll be beat out by a celebrity controversy.

REAL HEROES are people who go lifetimes of toil for something better. Norman Borlaug, Mahatma, Martin Luther King. It was singular act of bravery, which I greatly respect, but he is far from a hero.

Christ, Burlags alone is credited with saving 2 billion people from starvation

yeah, the kid had a seizure. the college he went to, a film school, gave our hero 5 grand and promised his kids scholarships.

real heroes claim to be normal people doing the right thing.

The guy actually fell because he had a seizure. And then, when he was on the tracks, he had another one. This guy is a REAL hero.
