They call it a pen, but by the definition a pen must have ink. So it is a pencil.

It only talks about writing on paper, what about other thing?

    It is intresting

I might actually have to pay 15 squid for a pen/pencil. It IS that cool indeed.

JaLacaob, what kind of new career choice would require this metal pencil?

"It only talks about writing on paper, what about other thing?"

right-o. this would be a great substitute for a carpenter so that they wouldnt have to worry about their pencil dulling when drawing on wood. but this technique has been used by carpenters for a while, not a metal pen, just a screw or nail to draw your lines.

na, doesnt look that good to me. Come on, it wears down, at least you can sharpen pencils.
Also it writes like a pencil = bad.
And with fountain pens (or similar) you can replace the ink cartridge easily, and the nib doesn`t wear down.

Jax, How long do you think it will take for Metal to wear down on paper or soft smooth wood?

Obviously More time then ti takes to wear down a pencil.

sounds cool, but wouldn`t it be heavy? i mean.. what does UniBall pen weigh? an ounce or two? i`d hate to have to draw or write an essay holding that hunka lead in my hand
    talk about wrist cramps, man
other than that sounds cool, and i never replace the ink in pens anyway so it`s just as good to me

If it doesen`t have ink its not a pen and if it can`t be sharpened/doesen`t have led its not a pencil so call it what you want to call it. Neat but I sure as hell don`t need one.

Require? No. I just think it`d be useful to have out in the field.. ink doesn`t `run out` or skip or anything, so it`s reliable when you need a pen. Can`t write on anything else but I `always` carry paper anyway. Pens aren`t so reliable, especially in cold.

I`m going into federal law enforcement, just gimme another six months.

wow. look around that website! there`s some really cool stuff. to me the mirage maker and the flower illusion ball bearing thingys look the coolest. the pen is cool too.that site seems a little overpriced tho. like 700$ for a japenese puzzle thingy. looks like a big drawer to me... whatever still pretty awesome stuff. seems even cooler than that magnetic jewlery. now i know what i want for my birthday :)
