10bears: Fight Club rocks!!!!! I have had that movie ever since I was 8. Yes, I was exposed to some ... eh stuff. Oh well I`d find out sooner or later. My cousin gave it to me lmao shes awesome.

ANYWAYS this isn`t really a big deal. And I happen to love mcdonalds food, though I only eat it like once every 3 months. Perhaps less. And no, I`m not fat, I weigh about 97 lbs... I`m 14. (Almost 15 yay) But yeah... this isn`t that great of a link to add to i-am-bored. I do think I got more bored then before. >_<

I heard on the local news (my town never has anything interesting happening) that a mcdonalds ad flashed on the screen on some other program besides iron chef. The Micky D guys said that it was probably a camera problem. But on another show? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

not subliminal advertising its too obvious. lasts on screen too long. its not a single frame either cause the mcdonalds clip lasted about half a second or a second and there are 25 frames to a second. And yea peter kay but slimmer

Lol I find it funny how you guys are all saying "I want a Big Mac." That`s not how subliminal advertising works. First off for it to be subliminal it must only be recognized by your subconscious mind. And also you do not instantly give in to the ad. It just places a suggestion in your mind. So maybe a week later when your driving home from work and see a Micky D`s and a Burger King, You`d most likely turn into the Micky D`s. But mind can still overpower the suggestion. This is definetly fake, for if it were a real subliminal ad you wouldn`t have been able to see it. Maybe you guys remember those "Sub-lime-inal ads" for coke or pepsi where the had a little meter at the bottom and showed all sorts of weird sh*t. I bet one of you guys didn`t notice right at the end of those commercials there was a 1 frame screen with a promotional code along the bottom.

Don`t blame it on the TV! You just can`t stop eating at McDonalds! Don`t worry, that questionably heterosexual clown doesn`t mind one bit.

This isn`t subliminal advertising... subliminal advertising is not visible to the naked eye... subliminal advertising is only shown for 1/500th of a second... so only your brain registers in it, not your eye. It was used widely in theaters to boost sales of popcorn.

"I have to get a crappy dish that will make my house look like a trailer park double wide. Forget it."

I have Direct TV, and the dishes are a foot wide. o.0 Cable doesn`t give Spanish channels so I don`t get it.

I agree with deadman.

when you actually use subliminal advertising, your advertisement would be shown for a single frame and generally, you couldn`t catch it with the naked eye since one frame is 1/60th of a second. this was a glitch and nothing more. paranoid buggers.

Female 663
But what are the chances that the one frame just so happens to be the golden arches, which were modeled from the image of the french fry?
Ronald McDonald was recognized by 96% of school children in the nation. That was a clever marketing ploy because face it, most children love clowns. (and the funny part is that Ronald is never seen eating the food even though he`s been featured in over 2,000 of their commercials). I wouldn`t put this past them.

Female 56
Um...the message isn`t "subliminal" if you consciously notice that it`s there. If you know your seeing it, it is not appealing to your subconscious. So either it is supposed to be that way or McDonalds is really crappy at subliminal messaging. Or that dude edited it that way. Why was he taping Iron Chef America anyway? Seems kind of random...

Male 17
um, I taped this at home. and yes, old fashioned vhs taped taping, new tape, no tivo, etc. and its there, i nthe same precise shot shown here. so its not a tivo glitch from one guy.

clearly longer than one frame, which would only be only 1/30 of a second. the person who created this video should have noticed this. so, i think it`s a fake.

Deadman is correct in some way. There is certain ways to get rid of something for good though but without actually harming the device, lets say with a hammer, it is to much work. Although I agree with the glitch idea I can tell you computers don`t do that.

They put a punctuation mark at the end of the file extension telling the computer it is fine to be deleted. That is why you cant use some symbols in the names. I forgot what ones though.

Single frames are really easy to pick out. NTSC is only 30 frames a second, and film is only 24, so single frames are really not particuarly hidden or subliminal.

First of all it`s not a single frame image. If it were a single frame it would not be so visible when it was sped up. I doubt it was done intentionally. I`ve seen commercials cut off by other commercials before, so most likely it was some editing error. Could even be an error on the cable provider, food tv might not even be to blame for this.

Why would that pesky clown try to put a sublim advert in a cookery show? If Ronald really was up to this (v.doubtful) I`m sure kids programmes or something aimed at a younger audience would be the target. It all looks totally cooked up to me. (And yes, that guy at the start is a ringer for peter kay.)

nope, dont think its fake. *lol* first time i heard of subliminal advertising like this was on a "Columbo" episode :)
but what i wanted to say is, here in germany there was quite a little scandal a couple of years ago when some people noticed there had been pics of a naked woman - about ten of em - during a news show just like the McDonalds commercial right now. so this is why i believe its not fake. whatever... :)

So take that video with a grain of salt.

It`s not a random image, it`s a logo. It would be a real luck against the DVR to have that precise frame left in the buffer.

However, strange how everything (and I do mean everything) is precisely cropped to the bottom of the screen, then there is some room left, and some odd reflections. Even the Tivo menu crops against that limitation. But the red just goes all over the place.

Anyways, not saying it`s not possible, just improbable.

Sorry to bust your bubbles, but subliminal frame advertising is illegal in most civilized nations and frowned upon by the FCC. It`s just a fake. Subliminal messages are OK, but advertising is not ok. Example: The Young Ones (ancient UK comedy) spliced peaceful frames into their shows.

everyone listen to phoenix pata. couldve been a mistake at the station or on this guys tivo/whatever (though as big bonny said what are the odds of it being that particular frame) or maybe its a hoax. but its so not worth the risk for stations or advertisers to put in subliminal messages these days. not something this obvious anyway...

At the end of the day, it dosent matter if it was editied or not, people still saw it, and are probably thinking about their next meal, while they wobble down the street. . thud. . .thud . .wobble. . wobble.

Occam`s Razor: Is the Food Network, a large television network regulated by the FCC, playing "subliminal" messages that are obvious to the naked eye or did somebody with a decent knowledge of computers stick a frame in and video tape it?

To anyone in the UK... doesnt the guy in green at the beginning look like Peter Kay?

And I`d say this IS subliminal, its on a food show and it was a single frame, of the very clear logo, that sort of shot wouldnt really be on a commercial aside right at the end. Subliminal messaging is illegal.

This isn`t subliminal advertising. This has happened to me with random commercials all the time. In my house we have 2 Tivos and 1 Timewarner system and on both we have noticed this, with other companies, or right in the middle of a normally would be commercial/show. Now to explain this as simply as I can... When you "delete" something on computers, phones, or even DVRs, it doesn`t go to the magical land of deleted sh*t. It goes into a buffer where anything else can overwrite it at anytime. Now I would imagine that the DVR malfunctions and skips 1 frame when recording over this data and incorporates it into the program. Him having a DVR makes all the difference.
