I wasn`t going to sit though the entire thing, but I ended up doing so anyway. That`s sad... at least they enjoyed their life, though. Hopefully there`s a cure sometime in the future for things like that.

It was interesting how the particular type of progeria was unique to their family...

those kids are strong, so strong, i hate to see them so hurt... when the little girl was like "I want to wear pretty dress and wear make up to be pretty like others" its kinda broke my heart. I bet she is like all teenage girl, i bet she have crush and wish to get marry... and the 17 guy seem smart, I bet he could have been good in school... and the youngest one, he will have to see his brother and sister die and know he is gonna be next... he is so full of energy...

yeah, that was a depressing 45 minutes

sorry kind to have to make a comparison here. Does anybody remember the move "Mac and me", it was and 80`s movie about an alien. Don`t they look like them? wow weird.
Yea but anyways, that was really sad, I remember seeing that on tv a few times...different cases of it. There was one show I was watching and they had a camp like thing that all the kids that have this disease could go to. I thought that was really nice.
Is it just me, or are most diseases and all that occur in foreign countries? I know there are some americans that have this disease, but I am talking in general.

I Saw a doctumentary about Progeria like a few years ago after watching Akira and getting freaked out by the little old children there..
It said that at the time the movue was made there were only about 30 kids with this condition all around the world, and it was said that they usualy die by the age of 8 at most and almost never reach puberty.

The programme was on Channel 5!! It was about a girl called Hayley!! There will be another programme on about it too because there was a song written for her to raise money for progeria and it was sung by a children choir called Kids Choir 2000!!! They made a docu about it!!! Hayley is a lovely girl very brave and very lively!!!

This is horrible. It makes me very sad to know that there are people suffering like this.
I watched a movie not too long ago, I think it was called something like someone`s Oil. It was about a boy with brain decaying, and his mother and father spent all of their time trying to make him comfortable and cure him. It was terribly depressing, but a true story.
People who have to deal with this make me very sad, but I love how brave they are. As the doctor said, they don`t really have any other way to live.

that was very interesting but normally when a docu like this is shown (for any disease/injury) there`s always some clousure, or "we have a cure" or some sort of happy ending, or even a "they`re going to try and we will let you know what happened in a later show". for it to end like that was very depressing. I did not want to watch the whole thing but i did hoping there would be some happy ending.

Oh and whoever posted it, you should post the next week ep too that they showed at the end, about that 1.5 child that was born with 2 heads and torsos but only one set of limbs

KMeatPiLover: You`re intelligence is showing. `2020` is the title of a television show (or was). I don`t know if it is anymore. It wasn`t referring to a year.

mxchick617: That`s what I said, too. Maybe other cases of progeria, seeing how it`s so rare, is where the concept of `alien` came from. Big eyes, big heads, small mouths, small bodies that aren`t shaped just quite right..?

Overall: I watched the entire thing. Had to. It was `depressing`, especially if you didn`t watch the whole thing through.. but at the end the doctor noted how these children were strong spirited. They`ve offered themselves to study in hopes to help future children... what wonderful, innocent nobility right there. So often this is lost with adulthood. They`ve never known life like we have, and so while they `see` us as normal, the know `not` what normal feels like, so they don`t know what they`re missing, just like we don`t know -exactly- what they feel. That and they are living as fully as they can.

At first I thought I wasn`t gonna watch the whole thing but it just grabbed me and it was so interesting and such a sad story. I really admire those kids for their strength and their positive, upbeat vibe and the way they`re dealing with their disease. Watching this documentary made me look at life from a whole new perspective and I realize that all the stuff I complain and whine about is peanuts in comparison to the struggles this family has to face every day. My heart goes out to them and I hope they continue to live on making the best out of their situation. God bless...

I loved when they were dancing, I loved to see how strong they are. I just loved those children.

It`s depressing, but to see their strength, it is also inspiring.

I feel so bad for those poor kids.
For those of you that were laughing at this condition, you`re either very immature or you have no heart!!

Yeah, I wouldn`t laugh at their disease. They seemed like some really nice kids. The thing is though is that after having two or three children you`d think the parents would stop having kids. Oh well, the rich get richer and the poor get babies, right?

Extremely informational I hope they get that cure out soon. Is it patheitic that I`ve never heard of this disease? And that movie with Robin Williams was cool, but not at all like these kids` situation.

That was so interesting. Well worth the 45 minutes. The thing about the baby with two heads was on a while back. I saw it on tv, it was very interesting.

It made me sad when the little boy said that when he grows up he wants to be a soldier :-(

I wonder if he knows that he wont really grow up to be that old :-(

I`m really disappointed in people who post that the video was too long to watch, it`s SELFISH. I understand that people might not find this to suit their interests but don`t mock yourself by showing how selfish you are.

Although I came to this site purely because I was bored, I was very glad to stumble upon this one. I too, have a low attention span but I would think this video would show people what other people in the world suffer. These children could not live a full life, fulfilling their dreams and goals. At least give it a little thought and be somewhat grateful to the things that have made you happy right now.

what i dont get is why the parents would still have kids knowing it could happen again! i say that`s just plain cruel.
