^Even then its still useless, if you take out the fact that NASA will be able to officially say "Cool!"
Space is dumb.

^lmao
This picture doesn`t really prove anything unless we spend billions of dollars on a mission to go up there and find out it`s nothing.

OK FIRST OF ALL....ladydarkwind, to have hydrogen in a liquid state it has to be AMAZINGLY COLD. So cold in fact that there could be no oxygen in Mar`s atmosphere, which there is, but just not a whole lot. SECOND....maples, there are no ACTIVE volcanos on Mars. THIRD, tmw1488, don`t you see the small veins of dirt covering the sides of the crater? If the case was strong wind, it would look like a small sand dune on the side of the crater. AND FINALLY... it could very easily be water, flowing or frozen. I live in the rockys and in nearly every canyon, there are places on the side of the road where water seeps out of the rock and creates a water fall on the side of the cliff face.

not that amazing. whats so amazing about water? just cause its "mars" water doesnt make it any different fron "earth" water. its still H2O.

Of course there`s water on Mars. How would the martians survive there. (They live underneath the surface of Mars of course).

Just as long as they dont brink any of that damn water back to Earth. I mean think of the bacteria in it and whatever else there could be. What if, when exposed to oxygen, the bacteria grows legs and asexually procreate?

"looks at bush, bush has dollar signs in his eyes"

"looks at bush while he is sending rockets to salvage the gold"

i just dont understand why they think its water and maybe not something else or maybe some other thing in liquid form. maybe liquid hydrogen for all we know.

If you actually bothered to read the article, your answers are there. I dont see why it seems so unlikey that theres water underground. And if there is, why is it unlikely that there is some form of life. Everyone knows how manky and bacteria filled an empty bucket of water becomes if you leave it long enough. All life really needs to evolve is water! The rest of the things like respiration etc can be done unimaginably differently from how things do it on our planet.

Couldn`t the winds have moved the sediment? From what I`ve heard, Mars isn`t exactly the calmest place.

I don`t particularly see why that has to be attributed to water.
