Heh, I`m pretty sure the mouthful of pizza and such was added because this all wasn`t meant to be serious. They were just showing how easy it is to create something out of someone who is pretty and not very talented in the vocal area.

I agree with Harvy, and I strongly disagree with the song being catchy.

So sick of these famous people because they may be halfway decently good looking, have a famous sibling or once starred in a tv show/movie they think they can SING, then they cant and they use Autotune, then it goes to their head.

That`s the kind of person sad teenage boys would go and see in concert because of her airbruahed good looks, then the track would stop and she`d still be syncing away becuase she cannot sing.
    Rant over, thank you.

Interesting. I personally dont have any problems with them using technology to create music. i mian, why not? music is evolving to fit our ever demanding needs and this is nothing bad. if your tallented you can make it without all the computer stuff. Anyway, if you dont like what the music industry offers you (ashley simpson etc) just dont buy it. but people do so there must be something right about the end product, no matter how fake it is.

    btw, she was hot ;)

The problem with examples like the one in this film are that when you take a model, auto-tune her voice, and give her an album, it cheapens the art of music. And it`s just not fair. If you can legitimately sing well, would you want people who can`t hold a tune to get records while you can`t get any breaks?

For general information, the software being used was Pro Tools made by Digidesign, and is just to create just about every song in the charts today. This is just the tip of the iceberg though; For example when Victoria Beckham produced her solo material, she recorded her vocals word by word, so each one could be digitally altered by Pro Tools and plugins for Pro Tools like Auto Tune. Just thought you`d like to know.

I am a recent music performance graduate and in my last year of classes midi and sound production became required credits simply because this is where the market is going. I feel that this is unfair because it can make anyone sound great with little or no experience and it doesn`t matter if you are a vocalist or an instrumentalist. Some pop music doesn`t even have a full band playing just one guy playing a keyboard into a midi processor and recording it as different instruments which in the past 20 years have started to sound very authentic. I thought it was bad when music venues switched from live band to DJ`s just to save money but this is much worse. Here in Toronto when live music is being played owners cram about 8 bands in for one night simply to save on advertising costs and then give each band about $20. Sorry for my rant. I hope there are some other musicians out that who agree with me.

Mm, well, I think she was pretty hot, but the song was only `eh` and I like to hear a little... flaw in my music, rather than everything being fixed with auto tune. Everyone has little flaws when they`re singing, but if they`re so bad you have to cover them up, that`s not good.
This is why I tend to like local or independent (indie) bands.

Why does everyone act as if Paris Hilton`s had trillions of hits? Hasn`t she only had like 2 songs on the chart somewhere. I don`t even think they went number one once. Let it go. She has more money than you and she doesn`t let the fact that she`s talentless get in the way of that. In retrospect, I`d much rather be her than bash her on the Internet.

this is sad. america is so lazy, they dont want to be able to actually sing. they just have a computer program to do it for them. you can have a girl whose voice that sounds like a dying elephant, but happens to be hot, so she becomes a star. what happened to the good `ol days, when singers could actually sing?

I play guitar (been practicing for about 5 years) and I took choir for a few years and this is horrible. I knew about this for a long time, but I`m glad so many people are against it. Many people work hard to get where they are, but the people who just look nice get all of the attention, and the actual good singers/musicians out there are getting completely ignored. >_<

And this is why everyone thinks that they can sing these days. With enough money, you too can create terrible music.

And, no, she wasn`t pretty. Anyone the right kind of makeup anyone can really be made pretty (I know these techniques, they`re easy to spot on people. I do amateur makeup.), but she clearly has little natural beauty.

I can`t stand it when I overhear people at school say that "Oh my God, don`t you just LOVE Paris Hilton`s CD?". That CD is total crap and you know it. She had a special team working to make her seem great. Now take somebody who writes their own songs, and can actually play an instrument. How about Avril Lavigne? When people talk about her, all I hear is "Ugh. I hate her! She sucks!"

Does she? When Paris Hilton sings live, oh God it`s terrible (well at least from the YouTube movie I saw). But when Avril Lavigne sings live, it`s pretty darn good.

the onyl thing i disagree with is that singers shoudl write their own music.

that is inherantly flawed logic. a great singer shoudl eb able to shine even if she doesnt write her own music.

look at arethra franklin, she writes a little but not all.

and its the opposite as well, a great writer should not have to be a great singer to be heard.

the symbiotic relationship is much needed to bring the best music possible.

some peoepl are just lucky, they can write and sing, but i dont think its needed.
