I have a Candian one dollar bill .. but it was my baby gift .. because in 88 Canada realized dollar bills were stupid. So I`d rather not turn it into a shirt. Also I`m too lazy to go get my wallet to try.

who came up with this one thing or origami as a hole? its not like someone was like "im bored ill figure out how to make a shirt out of a dollar" origami is as old as paper and paper was invented in china a long time ago i dont care to look up the exact date. far as this one design because of the nature of origami 1,000,000 people might have come up with how to fold it individually over time without ever seeing or knowing others had made it befor them.

That`s neat... haha...

But the person who is REALLY bored is the guy who came up with this in the first place! I always have wondered who spawns these things... like, the animal beady things and that cat`s cradle game, or... knitting? Gosh, I wish I had more free time!

I saw a guy with one of these at lunch today. It had me wondering what it would look like on a Barbie...

I made it... took a while. It`s kinda cute.

The 2nd to last step took me 10 minutes. My bill didn`t start out crisp so that made it harder...

Yay! I got my mom to help me :) It`s not as hard as I though it was. But now I have a little tee-shirt with nothing to do with it.. I have two dollar bills as well, my Grammie gave me two of them when I was like seven. Laminating them makes them worthless lol. I have an American twenty folded like a boot as well.

Um, I have Canadian one dollar bills lol, I have like five, they stopped making them like in the late eighties I think? I also have quite a few American from my money collection so I tried to make this... I couldn`t :( I`m not good at oragami either so maybe that contributes to it.. oh well

Mine doesn`t look as neat as the picture, but I blame that on my lack of a crisp dollar.
Think I might do this with the other dollar in my wallet too. :)

and VideoGamer - maybe it`s because having a wad of money is cooler than having a pocketful of loose change ;)

American notes are all green so from a distance you can`t tell how much a "wad" would contain.

This looks cool but I neither have a dollar to try it out on nor do I really want my tenner as a shirt!

I also wonder if my efforts would actually warrant the same result. Perhaps not.

I have a book of how to fold dollars into animals. I made an eagle, but that requires two dollars.

uh ok ill set this straight. What those people without dollars are saying is
"we dont live in america, so here in england, we have one pound coins and two pound coins. also, if we change one pund to a dollar, we would have two dollars. its the current currency exchange rate right now! hahaha were richer that you!"
the bottom part has no relevance just thought id mention it. as for the shirt, yes the least amount of money in notes in england is a fiver, so there ya go.
about the shirt, yes it would take a fiver in england, but maybe with this, people will start a new currency, shirts!(uh-oh, we now have to wear money! lol)

^We have dollar coins in the U.S. too, but they aren`t very popular. I don`t know why.

"Huh? How are there no dollar bills, Sparkly? I thought it was cute."

Well, delande, in many countries around the world except the US, there is no single bill. It is a part of the coins, because sometimes it is easier to carry around a few small coins than many dollars. Each country used to tend to have different ideas, but now with the EU and the Euros, I`m pretty sure the singles are coins and not bills.

you can get loads of dollar shirts at cheap shops, because they`re only a dollar.

Or a quid if you live here.

Why is everyone saying that this is a waste of a dollar? You can just unfold it when you`re done... Anyway, I might try this when I get home. Looks pretty cool since I enjoy doing origami.

How is it a waste of money? If you can put it together you must be smart enough to take it apart? Right? Oh sorry, I forgot which site I was on.

ive done origami for longer then i can remember. paying for things with money folded in to a shirt of a dolphin or anything just pisses people off. once had a guy rip a 5 in to 4 pieces trying to unfold it.

How adorable. That would be a clever way to give money in a gift- i.e. put in tiny boxes that look like a shirt box.

That is a bit cute, but where I live there are no dollar bills - it would cost a fiver to try this out! Too bad, it would be a nice way to fold tip money to give a server for a smile.
