Paper ballots versus computer ballots, neither are 100% safe. At least with computers there is no "hanging chad" crap. Get over the drama. Just because the person you vote for doesn`t win doesn`t mean that someone "stole the election".

This is all a ploy for Democrats to look like the innocent victims of the evil doings of "The Man". Of course the Democraps are making the biggest deal out of it, after Kerry insulted the troops, they *have* to blame something for their inevitable loss (instead of an apology). As Michael Graham puts it, the Dems` motto is "We win or you cheated!" The Democrat Party is having issues with voter registration fraud, in previous elections as well as this one, not to mention that they want to give voting rights to illegal immigrants and felons. Surprise! Criminals and people who are here illegally get rights they don`t deserve!

*Insert liberal whining about the election being "stolen" and "bush sux lol

Hehe, for all the fret over the dangers of electronic voting, and the accusations that it was Republican`s who would steal the vote, we find that ZERO DEMOCRATIC INCUMBENTS lost yesterday.

I think Democrats were just so afraid of/used to losing that we conjured ideas as to why it happened.

The fact is, Democrats kicked ass. The atmosphere of suspicion and oversight so saturated our polling places, that GOD BLESS AMERICA, there are too many people watching EVERYTHING to allow massive vote fraud to occur.

Its like Y2K, so scary, until it passes and we all see that as long as we are vigilant, we have nothing to fear.

SUCK IT REPUBLICANS. SUCK IT LONG AND HARD. ENJOY THE EXILE.

Maelstrom_x, don`t worry, Rush will still love you.

Re-read your bull-pooe. I personally say to you, enjoy the years of disillusionment. You are the problem with America, and luckily, your absurdity will no longer fly.

DER DER DER LIBERALS ARE BAD DER, THEY WANT TO RAISE YOUR TAXES DER, THEY HATE AMERICA. JOHN KERRY DERRRRRRR. VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS DER.

Well, I guess that by Republican logic, the majority of American`s hate America.

DO YOU SEE HOW dratING RIDICULOUS YOUR ANTI-LIBERAL SENTIMENT IS?????

Hehe, man, you ass-clowns just hoped beyond hope that John Kerry could make up for your deficiencies. I can`t even count how many times silly butt-munches like you referanced John Kerry in the last week, when you actually thought you were making a persuasive point.

YOU EXPOSED YOUR OWN DESPERATION. Now its your turn to develop a conspiracy of your own. Trust me, you`ll have fun doing it, since you`ll have all this new free time, since you WON`T BE RUNNING OUR LEGISLATURE ANY LONGER.

I think you missed the bit where it was pointed out that while in some states it is the Democrats who want to ban electronic voting and the Republicans loving it, in some states it is just the other way around.
Might this have something to do with the payments Diebold receives from those states` elected parties?

Hey, you know what? I didn`t vote. What good does it do to pick the lesser of two evils? What we really need is a whole new system, one that can`t be so easily corrupted. I am sick of hearing how many soldiers are being killed each day. I am sick of seeing political ads every goddamn time I try to watch the TV, as they are nothing more than smear campaigns. I`ve got people who run this country telling me I can`t smoke. And saying it`s OK for people to work for $5.15 an hour. Food stamps do not buy gas or diapers. We used to be the land of opportunity, now we are the land of excuses. Well at least Saddam is gonna die, that will solve so many drating problems for us, eh? United States- where the rich get richer, the middle class is almost gone, and the poor- well who gives a damn about them, right?

The funny thing is that most who commented didn`t even watch it... Watch it make a decision on the rationale. It`s a republic (if you can remember that is what we are inteneded to be) piece not a republican or just a democratic issue. In New Orleans it was a republican who had the problems with the machines. The issue is about $$$ as it always is.

I`m not registered to vote, but the only time I`d ever vote for anything is if it involves an issue I find important. Other than that, voting for something when I have no idea what`s going on is retarded.

    "not watching, too long."

There really isn`t scandal. I saw this on TV a few days back. Not sure what to think. If there is REALLY a scandal, then why did all of the Democrat win yesterday and Donald Rumsfeld resign today? I bet that the Republicans will now cry saying that the machines were hacked.

Its what America thinks, and will believe. The Americans voted, and as a result the democrats took the House, and most likely the Senate.

Though in reality, this is something everybody should be whining about. What are these politicians elected for? To decide how to spend our money, and how to restrict our behaviour. Who needs them? There is never a just decision in Democracy reguarding income redistribution, because somebody will always be exploited as a non-consenting and/or non-benefitting financier. Imagine if we had private companies handling (most) everything the government maintains a monopoly over. Then only the people PAYING for the service would get to use it, and vice-versa; the systems/institutions would only be set-up were there willing buyers, and then paid for only by the people who use them! Vs. trying to decide THROUGH VOTES how money should be spent for things only a CERTAIN percentage of the populous will be using/able to use, though ALL of them will be paying for; or vice-versa: that only a percentage pay for (the rich or middle-class, for instance)

but everybody, or only a certain percentage (that does not include the financiers) has the right to use (like the poor). Imagine if all of these programs were just handled by private enterprise; only those institutions which had enough users to be feasible would be established, and then paid for only by those who use them! Hey, you never know; we might even endup with a system runs for PROFIT (black), rather than runs us into the ground with debt (red). Which would you prefer?

Suicism, your argument is very enthusiastic; however, your solution entails the same kind of control as Enron had over California`s power supply. And we all know how badly that went.

Additionally, it was corporate scandal that caused the whole voting problem addressed in this movie. Therefore, corporations of America are not to be trusted in handling these commodities, lest said corporations yield corrupt ethical stances.

Not that I trust the government that much either. I just trust it more than the team that Enron played for.

I have to disagree with all of you peeps out there saying that the democrats are whiners...

well, i guess we are sometimes...

BUT what you are getting confused is that it is the republicans who spin the truth when public sympathy isnt with them.

EXAMPLE!!! Rush Limbaugh on MJFox. A few years ago, MJFox did a campaign ad for a republican congressman, i think, who supported stemcell research. And now that a democrat had the same argument, they just pretend as if it never happened and that the democrats are evil...

    f*cking republicans...

The real problem was monopoly. None of these things were tested, nor was there any room for competition BECAUSE of this secrecy. I did use the qualifier of "most," because there are certain things that only a monopoly can accomodate, and in that case the monopoly should be funded by the people. However, the difficulty is in finding out through trial and error which method is preferrable in each given case. In the market, you can always tack-on new regulations, and create more collusion within the government. When STARTING with the a state of (gov`t) monopoly, however, there is usually no going back short of wholesale revolution. Remember, it was the public OFFICIALS who BOUGHT the voting systems, and certified their acceptability for use; even after the final blow vis-a-vis memory card trials. Any bumpkin can pitch a faulty product to the public office - it takes an EXCEPTIONAL bumpkin to buy into it, and you only see that kind of incompetence in monopolistic institutions.

Yeah, I know. With all the people on here who bitch about George Bush, and express their liberal sentiments toward the voting process, I`m not surprised at all that none of them bothered to watch it. Just guess at the way GB could have `stolen` the election, without any grasp on the means with which elections might be compromised. Now the democrats won, so I guess they don`t care as much. With all the whining I hear from this 13-17 democrat category though, I guess I can`t say I`m surprised that they`re all talk and no chalk.
