Wow. Talk about bad luck! I`d think that to be embarassing, regardless of whether he was in first place or not.

what was that a rubber mat, why, what purpose could that possibly serve, it looked shiny at that camera angle, of course slippery, who would have thought this was a good idea

"He wanted to look triumphant crossing the line hagane, its quite common in marathons."

No kidding. But you would think dedication like that would`ve prepared him for not taking an early siesta. In other words "Taking your eyes off of the prize".

"Serves him right...

Showoff."

Your either an ass or good at being sarcastic. That`s not SHOWING OFF, that`s years of dedication and hard work and being able to jog constantly for 27 miles.

"Yepper he did win. Chicago marathon, just this weekend. $150,000, actually! He finished in just over two hours! But damn, I`m thinking that they need to remove those mats! Holy smokes! He actually had internal and external bleeding in/on his head, but, he did recover."
But, if they didn`t have the mat, he may be in worse condition xD Although he may not have fallen...just shh.

Yeah thats what I mean, its so freaking hard to run that sort of distance (I can run 5+ miles at most but im limping and crap by the time I get there, 27 miles is a pipedream for me :)) the shear determination that carried him those 27 miles,. im surprised it didnt cause him to drag himself along. I mean he had no energy but surely that close to the finish and not knowing if you won or not nothings going to stop you, not even a reasonably serious headwound. :)

"
Im surprised that after running 27 miles he didnt pull himself over the red mat to make sure he won, damn."

I`m pretty sure he had NO energy left in him to even move. I`ve done track before, and it`s NOTHING compared to a 27 mile race.. That`s amazing how people can endure that. But damn, he didn`t even get a chance to warm down, plus he was still exahusted and hit his head so hard.. If they wouldn`t have let him win I would have shot the judges.

I bet that did no good for his aching muscles either - marathon athletes need to do a lot of warm down excercises after runnning. I guess everything hurt the next day! Poor man.
