Darwin said species are just a snapshot of evolution, because things are constantly changing. Like if you took a photograph of yourself everyday until you died - it would slowly change.
P.S. you shouldn`t fear offending somebody`s religious beliefs. Religious people don`t hesitate to offend your own beliefs with their indoctrination and presumption.
btw, please don`t "pop", it`s ok that you created an account just so you could school me & ended up spreading you fears all over iab, it`s really ok, welcome aboard!
& just because there is no valid argument against, does not make it true
to say, it "may" be a good idea, or perhaps why not "just in case", i can see this, to say it is happening, there is no proof just charlatans
humans are not powerful enough, not at billion or 100 trillion, it`s just not possible
to make the world inhospitable for humans not entirely possible but a much better case, since we have precedence. you cannot take the same matter & use it to destroy itself, it`s i m p o s s i b l e, the earth will take a natural course with or without humans with little to no effect
stay in school & careful about the brainwashing emotional rants of the teachers
you will just have to live your life & before you pass on realize all that crap folks filled your head with was just bs, i wuld keep one thing in mind, just because it sounds viable doesn`t mean it is
As long as everyone else followed, that`d be fine with me. Or were you trying to insult me?
"(animals i guess, but theyre just boring. and they probably wouldnt notice too much.)"
Humans *are* animals. And I think they would notice by the sheer fact that their species would still exist to notice.
attention people, the earth is fine, charlatans will keep brainwashing you claiming it`s broken so they can receive more money to convince more people & so on, stop listening & they are out of a job or power
It`s kind of sad to see what we`ve done to Earth (as this shows), but at the same time, this is blown out of proportion in a few places.
only one comment do i have toward these knuckleheads, there is more than 2 pounds of living bacteria in each environmental charlatan, we should by any means necessary set free
2) Your little "fact" about nuclear power plants only using 4% of the energy they produce, lol. Think about it, everything produces energy, when you walk you are using and converting energy, and most of that energy builds up on your skin and dissipates, so you, yourself are not an efficient energy machine, that little 4% `fact` is either fake or made up by people going for the "shock" value.
It`s 4.30am here, I`m so tired I can`t see straight, and I can`t find any actual pages that state the exact amount of time it needs to be stored, but the ones I found take permanent disposal for granted.
From Disposal of high-level radioactive waste by the French Nuclear Agency:Paragraph IV, line 12:
"With a suitable choice of waste packaging, backfill, and geological environment, the radioactive materials should remain isolated from man`s environment for many tens of thousands of years at least.
"
Link to a HUGE database of nuclear-related issues:http://www.radwaste.org
But what I do know is that pumping out millions of tonnes of Carbon Dioxide every year, along with toxic waste lasting longer than we have even existed as a species, lead in the atmosphere, CFCs, and over-depletion of natural resources like fish can`t be helping.
It`s up to us to make sure that our children have a world they can live in safely.
If the timeline of the existence of life on Earth can be scaled down into one fully-grown adult male holding his arms out away from his sides, then the entire history of human culture can be erased with a single stroke with a nail file across his middle finger.
Since life began - which was around 3 billion years ago - the climate of the planet has always been in balance with the life that was on it.
Early humans appeared maybe a few million years ago, with the roots of human civilization dating back possibly 20,000 years. At that point, humans began to take effect, needlessly hunting other animals to extinction, including the sabre-tooth tiger and woolly mammoth to name 2 examples.
However, human pollution really kicked off only a couple of centuries ago.
Billions of years of balance has been thrown out by the events of 200 years ago onwards.
Humans are destructive as drat and we all know it.
radio-active. what an incredible term.
pretty green glow, too.
That was the first haiku I got from the haiku-o-matic
nuclear power isnt bad!!!!! damn europeans you have it too its not americans that have it we mostly use coal. if nuclear waste is so bad just launch it into space. but we cant use crappy ass rockets or the GAY SHUTTLES NASA has. a big cannon can shoot this stuff into space into empty regions so it wont be our problem anymore!!!!!!
I won`t enter the global warming discussion but I have to say this: I can`t understand how anyone can justify nuclear power. The waste from every nuclear reactor in use today will still be lethal in several hundred thousand years.
Several hundred thousand years.
It`s so much time that it`s unfathomable, that it just becomes a number. What our generation is saying to the next two thousand generations or so is "Here, have these piles of slag that kills anything that comes close to them, we created them because we wanted cheap electricity. Keep them safe or well, you`ll die. What`s that? You don`t want them? Not our problem."
Nuclear power is irresponsible and shortsighted. We, as the only species that can make long-term plans should know better.
Oh, and did you know that nuclear power plants has an energy efficiency of something around 4%? That means that only 4% of the energy emitted by the reaction can be converted to usable power like electricity.
I found that quite hilarious, roaches will become noobs ><"
I second that.
What!? No it wouldn`t! That would suck! That would be like the complete opposite of cool.
but I must say
"they`d dig up human fossils and be like holy $hit zomgs wtf."
I found that quite hilarious, roaches will become noobs ><
Man, I`m pathetic. -_-;;
"Save the planet. Kill yourself."
I`ve had that badge for three years, too...
Funny, how *everyone* predicted massive hurricanes destroying the gulf coast of the US and we haven`t had even one major hurricane THREAT, let alone one to actually hit.
natural global warming is crap. its CARS and INDUSTRIES and like... MAN MADE stuff mostly, isnt it?
it seems that the earth would be better off without us in most cases!
What I want to know is why don`t all the people concerned with overpopulation/pollution/whatever don`t kill themselves off first so that they no longer contibrute to the problem? I never hear any volunteers."
I`m killing other people first, just killing me wouldn`t make enough of a difference. ;)
And now everyone is pissed off! Woo![?]!
In regards to the methane bit, Earth naturally cycles methane through its atmosphere, but usually it is kept in a state of equilibrium with CH4 in its organic [fixated] state. [btw, I believe termites give off more methane than cows, overall] but human agriculture and energy production are throwing off the balance a bit, which is unfortunate because methane is a very extreme greenhouse gas, if I remember GLG 201.
Wow I`m such a Geology nerd/Environmentalist.
I thought it was very intersting, how millions of years of history could be totally wiped out and reverse back to wild dinosaur era pretty much immediately if we werent around
Errr. Which bit?
Maybe it was a flood..??
Besides, a few people comitting suicide is not as effective as convincing bus-loads of children to eat arsenic.
And that`s totally NOT my plan.
That would be too easy.
I mean evil.
Evil as in wrong.
Wrong as in... never mind.
What I want to know is why don`t all the people concerned with overpopulation/pollution/whatever don`t kill themselves off first so that they no longer contibrute to the problem? I never hear any volunteers.
We don`t create animals. And they would just die anyway eventually.
I`d hate to see aust in 500 years, fk that, there`s already too many people here
