I`ve just watched this ad on TV.. but it was for Dulux paint, not Sony. And there were no clowns in it.

But if it was all real.. that`s pretty impressive.

This ad is so cool, it should be used for the 256-tandy color available in the new windows 3.1!

Lol D2B Wrong on both your postings. It`s not Dutch nor was it from 1951 It was shot in July this year in Glasgow, Scotland. I watched a lot of it from my lounge window!

D2B, you are a dumbass. Those were the EXACT same shots as the Bravia commercial, and no one can take B&W footage from 1952 and convert it to COLOR anyway. It was obviously the current commercial, made to look aged through the use of POOR special-effects, the likes of which can be found on free video-editing software such as Windows Movie Maker; and the smoking gun, are you telling me there was SPRAYPAINT graffiti back in 1952? Remember that shot where the paint was pouring down the stairwell? Check it again. And angelicamber, what are you doing even humoring D2B`s complaint? Have you even OBSERVED the "original" in question?

Oh and ummmmm......D2B...... that "commercial from 1951" is the bravia commercial. You can even see the "bravia-advert.com" in the lower right corner of the "old" commercial. Someone messed with it to make it look like it`s old.

I thought it was pretty lame. Exploding paint, whoopee. It was well done in terms of being timed with the music, but what was the point? The clown was just bizarre. I think they could`ve done something that was a lot more creative and memorable. From an advertising (exec) standpoint it wasn`t done well either.

It was ok but forgettable.

It doesn`t matter if the Cards barely got by the Mets or kicked their butts. A win is a win. We`re going to Detroit, the Mets are going on vacation.

Project Specs:
70,000 litres of paint
358 single bottle bombs
33 sextuple air cluster bombs
22 Triple hung cluster bombs
268 mortars
33 Triple Mortars
22 Double mortars
358 meters of weld
330 meters of steel pipe
57 km of copper wire

On a page i found, and yes, it was in Glasgow. It won`t let me post the link, cos it has more than 40 characters >-(

wow, i really do appreciate those awesome bravia ads.
but the first one was definately better, no doubt about it. I liked that the clown was black and white, because it looked like he was there to be painted or something. But i didn`t like him too much.

is that paint is any toxic for the environement ?

(yeah... i know, stupid question)

and i do agree with Diane, it look like they wanted to make belive the clowns did it but it was a bad idea... i think the clowns should have been a bit more colorfull ...

When the red paint was on the window, it looked like blood was splattered on it...
Maybe it`s just me?

Here is my theory on the clown.

It was supposed to look like he did it, and he is running from the scene.

The end.

This made me giddy, and I`m not kidding. I like instrumental/classical music and bright colors though, not to mention I haven`t had the chance to watch enough tv to compare it to the ball commercial... :P

Actually D2B this was shot in Glasgow in Scotland, and it was correct that these houses and flats were being pulled down soon. However, it was a Danish photographer who directed the first advert (the bouncing balls in an San Fransiscan street.

This was actually shot in Glasgow Scotland (where I live :-)) They used flats that were due for demolition, I think one is still standing...looks quite something.

The reason this one wasn`t as good at the bouncy ball one is the MUSIC! This one had lame whatever orchestra stuff. I WANT MORE JOSE GONZALEZ!

i got a feeling some parts of it is cg.

some is real like the main building blowing to get colored.

but i think they edited the effects and stuff to make it look nicer

Sony is so rich...
They can just blow paint everywhere O_o
...or probably water Cged to look like paint :P

I`m pretty sure it was colored water. Paint doesn`t fall like it did in the end and colored water could be just washed away unlike paint
