I can only imagine what would be in that book
Too bad all I get is BBC America, no 2`s or 3`s or whatever there is. UK`s The Office is so much better.
His point was that he objects to labels when it comes to things like humour and intellect, and that those qualities would be better viewed on their own merits instead of "European" humour or "African" intellect or whatever.
He certainly wasn`t trying to comment on world education levels, human rights, systems of government, etc., and certainly gave no indication that he was "feeling sour" that a good joke was not created by American writers.
Why? Who cares. We`re humans before anything, stop identifying yourselves as Europeans. Like there is any difference between the intellect of Europeans and those in Africa, or the Inuit.

Especially the grandma.
It`s not too far off from something they may have done in the mid- to late-nineties maybe, but I doubt they would have taken up English accents for the sketch.
Compared to other british humour this is pretty `clean`. Little Britain became a little too extreme and UK television really needs programmes without nudity or sexual innuendos.
