That was funny to watch it sure marked a change of wordwide communication as we knew it. We didn`t get the internet until 1996 and even then it was still just starting out, very few people had it and it was reeeally slow. I totally remember how long pics used to load lol. Broadband is heaven sent, let me tell ya. Gotta love how they switched the norwegian flag with a swedish one, I`m norwegian too and couldn`t help but notice it. Today I could never imagine being without the internet, it has opened a whole new world for me. I`ve made new friends over the net and discovered new music I would never hear otherwise. Plus I`ve learned a whole lot too by finding sites with great info when using the net for homework or just random surfing. I freakin LOVE the internet.

"It has more soul than any human being I know."

...kind of an early warning that foreshadowed what happens when you spend to much time on Internet.

Amazing, too, to consider our machines and how they`re different from then! Remember 5.5 inch floppies? That was the standard. Cassette tape drives were phasing out. A super large hard drive would have been 100 Megabytes or so (if memory serves) and modems connected at 14.4 kbps. Now look at our machines! And the `net! Pretty cool to compare. :-)

Teh intarwebz, the internets, and the ever-annoying "cyber space"... Any of these would have been acceptable considering he called it "internet". It`s THE internet. It isn`t some supreme being that wishes for its minions to call it "internet". The guy says it is a tool, except nobody asks "Pass me screwdriver" or "Hand me wrench" or "Make sure drill is off".
