If you people can`t see it`s computer generated, you`re retarded BIG TIME.
Look, personal opinion is everyone`s guide. Vindicate believes commercials like this one turn women into sex objects. She`s not wrong; it happens all the time, has happened in the past, and likely will continue for Eric Clapton knows how long. Sabre200000 and his wife believe a woman`s sexuality is powerful and reassuring, regardless of it being used in a commercial for a crummy TV show ripoff. They aren`t wrong either; women should be proud of being sexual people. But I suppose context is everything. The when and where is most important.
^ was any of that clever? I can`t tell.
Yout think some 3rd rate show like that would put the money and effort into making a scene that complex with CG models so life like when they already had two versions of those characters for the show?
ralmfao, they are CG girls, look at their eyes and their unnatural movements at the beginning, notice how they never get terribly close?
I just hope everyone realized this, because some of you sound seriously retarded by calling them real.
As to the whole Ginger/Mary Ann debate, it seems to me as though that promo had gone as far as to decide for us. It was very Mary Ann-based, wasn`t it?
As for my being a female dog... being not of the canine variety, I must refute that. Ugliness, as we all know, is in the eye of the beholder. As is beauty. Thus, I shan`t vouche for my beauty or ugliness as that would be conceit of the most disturbing sort. And as for being catholic, I may definitely say I am not. Thanks for you idiotic and uninformed opinion anyway. T`was amusing.
I think we should all turn bi. And by "all" I mean just the girls.
And sertrbl - those ads may be geared towards men, but they are "oppressive" in the sense that 1) it`s disrespectful to guys to think they`ll only buy something because tits n` ass are associated with it because we know not all guys are like that, and 2) the women are merely eye candy. Their only purpose is to look pretty. That`s it. Personality? What`s that? Aspirations/dreams? Who cares? She has big tits and a nice ass!
It`d be the same if it were two "hot" guys in the same situation. Once you reduce ANYONE down to their physical qualities you do yourself and the (now) object a disservice. Think about it - would you want to be thought of as a nice ass and boobs (pretend you`re a girl)? Or as a person? Personally, I`d choose person anyday of the week.
Yeah...I`m straight and everything, but that chick in the red shirts ass was AMAZING and hott. It actually turned me on!!
Someone sounds jealous :D.
I`d take the red head, any day.
Me three.... :(
So remind me again how being a feminist is a bad thing? A feminazi, that`s bad. A feminist? Not so much.
And I counter that for every ad that has a guy being sexy to sell something, there`s a good 50+ using women being sexy to sell things.
And if no one else sees the disgusting aspect that we no longer rely on the quality of the product but rather the sex appeal of the ad/people in the ad to buy things, then... well, that speaks for itself really.
I can`t believe it`s not butter.
oh and for the debate...
Scarlett Johansson > Maryann > Ginger
You make some good points, but keep in mind that these women most likely didn`t HAVE to do this...I highly doubt they were forced into it.
Now, it IS possible that they needed the money, but if they were really so worried about "degrading themselves and other women" , they could have looked for something else more "dignifying", don`t you think?
You`re kidding right? What about shows like desperate house wives, or better yet, every soap opera on TV. Guys have every right to enjoy it too, its not the 80`s anymore.
Question - how come with this concept of "sex sells" it`s only girls being portrayed as the sex objects? I see two answers - 1) Girls don`t fall for the sex sells, hence it would be pointless to have two guys instead of girls, or 2) It really is as demeaning as it looks and thus, a guy would never stand for it, since it is a male-run business. Both have merits... although the latter seems more plausible.
-eyes water- Me too.
I watched that 10 times, with one hand. ;-)
(it`s tough being coherent with your tongue hanging out)
