While I admit this is impressive, the crow was only learning through classical condition, which a number of animals can do as well.

I never denied animals were smart. I suspect humans don`t give their other animal counterparts enough due credit.

I was told by a professor at my junior college that people don`t begin to learn the refined aspects of English until they are about college age. Supposedly that`s when their minds are mature enough to handle it (note I said supposedly).

They`re, their, and there does seem a little too basic though. I know we went over this stuff in my rhetoric I class, but when we did go over it I was thinking," Are these people serious??"

about 80% of internet users don`t know the difference between the words "They`re", "There", and "Their". The same people also tend to confuse "Your" and "You`re" (at least they don`t use "ur"). "Then" and "Than" are also commonly mixed up, but more often as a type-o than as a result of ignorance. Many people also forget to capitalize the first word in a sentence.

Crows are incredibly smart. We see it all the time here (Alaska) and it is why they are in a prominent place in Tlingit (one of the southeast Alaskan native peoples) religion and lore. My husband and I have seen them in the grocery store parking lot, one will stand on an over turned can of whip cream and the other will depress the nozzle, releasing whip cream out, and they take turns eating the cream. Other times, we have seen them sliding down the school slide. It is said, that play is a sign of intelligence. Yes, Ravens are intelligent.

Crows are indeed very smart. This wasn`t staged. Ask any country kid who`s tried to catch a crow. They`ll tell you how smart they are, and difficult to catch.

This normally goes on in Japan. It is the birds way of ajusting the the civilization around it. Multiple birds do this but normally don`t use cars they just crack it on the ground.

The ones by my house have just figured out how to get into the garbage cans, so they`re only really around on Monday mornings (garbage day). I`m pretty sure I want one...like now.

if the crow is only dropping the nut in the crosswalk because there are wires above it, why did he stand on the curb and wait for the traffic to stop?

crows can have a vocabulary of something like 200 words. they may not be able to say all 200 but they have the capacity to recognize each word and obey.

i love crows. always have. they`re really brilliant animals.

A peanut butter sandwich would take ages using that method.

The narrator`s voice sounds like the same dude as in some joke documentary I saw... about like, all germs coming from Germany, type of thing, maybe? I forget.

Dang, what a crow has to go through just to be a city bird.

We`ve always known that these birds are intelligent, but each new tool/task I`ve seen them accomplish just makes me shake my head in wonder. In my book, they beat parrots all to hell.
