Laughed? I would have clapped.
ROFL @ cruxshadows!!!!
1st. people can bring their own cameras to class to record, at least at my collecge they can, hell ive done it myself
2nd. the reaction of the students is probably so shocked that they are just speechless
3rd. like dudeman1st sed its a small class so the teacher can easlily see who had the fone, and with the guy being in the front and talking, the teacher could easily have seen the phone.
now is it right to do such a thing? no. but could it be true? possiblly
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING ANOTHER EDITION OF MYTHBUSTERS!
And it`s fully possible it wasn`t staged. If a guy in the front row whips out his phone, well, it`s plausible.
"Uh yeah, my phone rang and I answered it, and I was in class. No, I didn`t say I would call them back, I just sat there, at the front, talking on my phone. No I didn`t try to hide it, I was just there, on the phone, in the class. Then the professor took it and smashed it which he had no right to do. Can I sue please?"
And did that guy actually answer his phone in class? If so, then he deserved it.
I have a 26 y/o professor.
He doesn`t seem that angry.
Cell phones should at least be set to vibrate. Different professors have different reactions to cell phones going off. Many instructors just make the student leave for the day.
...admit it, you saw it in the video... the way the dude handled it was smooth...he`s my role model:-)
That way the students can`t say they didn`t know he would do that.
Maybe destroying the phone was extreme, but then again we don`t know the whole story. It could be that the kid did that all the time and that was the last straw, after so many warnings about what would happen.
Point being, the lecturer can`t just do nothing about it.
One of my teachers has joked about bringing one of those super soakers and spraying anybody who answers their cell phone, since so many people do it, even though it`s against the rules. She`s joking, I think, but I`d love to see that happen...it would be hilarious.
I think it`s fake,
Why would somebody be taping this?
Why does nobody react AT ALL when he does this?[/quote]
You know, people can record or videotape to supplement their note taking. And what do you mean noone reacted at all? Why would you expect for a reaction? People standing up and clapping? Because, the kid had his cellphone on, like he shouldn`t have, or even on silent, thus he had it coming...
The fact of why is he recording, fire_frog, stated it well. I used to tape my classes and they were only 15 people, what do the people have to do with me taping?
I dont think he got fired, i think he had every right to do that...
I mean wtf do you expect, picking up your cellphone during an AP Class and cassually talking in it...
The lecturer shouldn`t have responded like that. Better he just stand there, silent, waiting for the guy on the cell`s conversation to finish, making him the centre of attention and making him seem in the wrong.
leaving your phone on silent is NOT difficult
And that`s why you sir deserve to have your phone smashed on the floor.
Anywho, I beat the shxt out of him. The really sad thing was that no one tried to stop me.
I actually kicked him around after he fell down... At that point I was like "Whoa". I could put this guy in a hospital, and like, get arrested.
So I took my phone and went back to the rec building.
It was busted. But I didn`t want to press the point. Beating the shxt out of that guy was WAY worth it.
I never was allowed to get another one, though T_T
Oh and his son broke my nose the next year. Fuxing jerk. He`s twice my size. I couldn`t hit the creep, long xss mother fxcking arms...... Fuxing jerk.
Also, you`re a lying faggot. Guys like you are the reason I`m bi. Please die. Thank you.
Sort of same thing happened at my old high school. A kid was drinking a coke and the teacher told him to put it away. He didn`t, then his phone rang, and he was messing with it in his lap. She marched right up, picked the coke up off the floor, and poured it all over his lap (and phone).Serves him right.
you know, I`m pretty easy going about that stuff typically, like if someone answers a phone while I`m cutting his hair, that`s fine. It`s the guy who`ll sit there and have a 15minute conversation while I`m waiting on him that pisses me off.
Btw, I wouldn`t be bragging about you being a punkass at church camp if I were you, Ailing. It kind of makes you look like... well a "Fuxing jerk"
Why does nobody react AT ALL when he does this?"
Cause the professor can learn if he`s using eye contact or saying um and uh a lot. My dad has to do it once per year.
You can`t see the people`s faces. So how did you know if they winced.
This teaches never to turn on a cell just put it on vibrate.
I doubt he`s a professor too, but he could very well be a TA or GA leading a discussion for a General Education class. I`ve had more then my share of those.
I agree that this was probably staged to demonstrate just how much he hates phones going off in class, but maybe the guy with the video camera knew this professor`s policy and decided to film it trying to get some sort of internet fame.
Most aggravating thing - people texting during class. God it`s irritating. And distracting as hell.
Why does nobody react AT ALL when he does this?
I said that I loved that teacher for doing that, because I (unlike most teens) hate cell phones too.
