Genius! To those who asked "why" - because it is art. It`s called creativity. You should try it sometime.

This film was a work of art

Hello, I am the maker of the stop motion film you`ve just watched. A few reactions to some posts from you guys:

- I`m not the guy from the Aicha movie. I think he calls himself Gellieman. My name is Jelle. I`m from the Netherlands and I shot the film in my hometown called Breda.

- I`m glad to see so many good reviews! And even more glad that many of you guys see why I made this film. People who do art or music don`t waste their time, because they love what they are doing and have goals to accomplish.

- The reason why it took me six months is because of the weather. If the sun shines on one frame and it rains on the next, you will have 12 different kinds of light in every second. That would look very weird and people would get epilleptic attacks maybe ;)

If someone has questions, I will check this site again tomorrow.

I can`t believe you freaks think this film at 5 minutes was "too long." I guess that`s why movies have to have things on fire and exploding every 30 seconds and why nobody listens to symphonies anymore. I weep for the human race. And you attention-deprived spazzos, too.

"Somthing that took him that long cannot be worth it."

Wow. People passionate about what they do give you music, art, electricity, your iPod, your computer, your TV, your car, the transistor, men on the moon, films, textiles, and everything else in your life. People like you end up bagging their groceries or being their secretaries.

The stop motion jumping is easy, for those that asked? You start at the top step, then take a shot at his highest jump point from each step...his highest jump from each step would be lower each time. There and easy process, that`s pretty easy to figure out if you ask me. Anyway, very good video..a lot of hard wor too.

For some reason when the video ended I felt bad..I mean....all those video game systems, and all he has is a crappy little tv to play them on. That sucks!

that was sweet, though it didnt take as long as you guys think to actually shoot it XD maybe a day, just wandering around making up stuff as you go lol, the longest part that i saw would have taken was the part on the street when it was turning into night time...and for people that ask "y?", it because people like to do things unique and things that are fun-
anyways- i wanna do one of these one day

Hehe I loved the bit where his breakfast prepared and ate itself. I love stop motion movies anyone who says they`re a waste of time is a fool. Why insult someone for their hard work? It`s like calling someone a geek or nerd...how can you insult someone for their intelligence being better than yours? I bet you`re all jealous of this guy :P

smurfette69: "Somthing that took him that long cannot be worth it. Also, let me get this strait....were his game controllers attacking him?"

They were crowding around him like pet dogs, because they were eager for him to play with them, but they retreated when they saw that he had an old Atari game cartridge that wouldn`t run on their systems.

But the main point... "Somthing [sic] that took him that long cannot be worth it." I`m so glad that people like you don`t constitute the entire population, or we`d still be living in little caves wiping ourselves with leaves. Anything that engages the mind and body in a creative and innovative way is worth it. Creating something just because it doesn`t exist is worth it. Having fun is an integral part of human existence, and some people require more intellectually engaging activity in order to be entertained.

Which begs the question, why am I wasting my time here?

Already saw this on YouTube, the creators comment there;

This Stop Motion Animation takes you into another world. In this world no physical laws count. The only laws that count are the laws of the Animator.
I animated myself through my house and the city of Breda, the Netherlands. It took me 6 months to complete. That is mainly because of the weather. It wasn`t always suitable to shoot my scenes.
The song I used is called Chinois by DJ Aphrodite and can be found on the record Aftershock.
Enjoy! I would like to know what you think about it.
