In which case the dispatcher didn`t assume anything. The conversation was, as we`ve already established, much longer and it`s been noted that before he even made that comment, the mother had already gone on a rant about her daughter doing something that didn`t require police at all.
And so he didn`t assume anything, he already understood that the situation was ridiculous and made the comment after he`d established that.
Anyways, I like this Mike character.
forget to read the part where he says that it doesn`t matter the situation. So the police officer assumes shes over-reacting to the lack of control she has for her 12 yr old daughter, (correctly i might add; im pretty sure the kid wasn`t on drugs) YET, what if he assumed incorrectly, and ends up making sly remarks to a person who is in dire danger.
well she can burn in hell with the lights off.
ANd for those people who say its her problem. If a woman calls in and says her husband is out of control, do you make the sme comment? She could be geting beat..hey, it is her problem becasue it`s her husband and she should control him? Forget the police.
Hopefully you wont be in a situation someday where you really need help, and someone makes a joke at your expense. You know I will save you the trouble and do it for you know.
The next time you are injured or hurt, think of me calling you a dumbazz
He probably lost his job for saying what he did, but I can`t say I blame him one bit.
*turns around and starts laughing*
I think the guy made a practical statment.
Wth did the woman want the cops to do to her daughter? Sit her down and give her a good talking to? I remember I got into a huge fight with my father, and being the idiot that my mother was she called the cops. I got dragged away in cuffs because I was attacking him.
If the daughter was doing something like that, that is exactly what the cops would do.
Cops don`t give talking tos, the arrest people. End of story. And they wouldn`t give two poos to dragging a twelve year old crazy girl out of her house in cuffs.
but it wasnt a very appropriate time to crack a joke
PS:I didnt know that you could use photoshop to change voices
Im gonna give that mom a mushroom tattoo.
AMERICA, drat YEAH.
I also can`t believe he didn`t use a very simple statement such as "Oh, what I meant to say was to give her a shot, as in a sedative. Did you seriously think I meant `shoot her with a gun`? Oh! I can see the misunderstanding!" to get himself off the hook. - Much better than saying `It`s a joke`
Cannibal. You suck!
Seriously, the woman had it coming. I would probably make a joke like that too. I mean, she`s completely wasting police time. 911 is supposed to be called only in state of emergencies. It`s her daughter; if she can`t control her, that`s her problem. Not an emergency AT ALL.
If I was in his position, I would say something like
"Ma`am, have you tried grounding her?"
And how do you report annoying people on IAB? Because I only come here for the posts.
Anyway, I would have liked to have heard the whole conversation.
Anyway, yeah I agree with the operater. Really what was he supposed to do with a 12 year old kid?
` no, but because theres noone you need to shoot, why dont you shoot your f**king self!? `
Well, most girls are pretty much full-grown by the age of 14 or so. So if she was by any chance an athelete/her dad was a big guy/an early starter (All of which very possible), or even all three, she could be much more powerful then her mom.
Anyways, it pisses me off how serious this lady took it. I thought it was a pretty good joke, and I would say something like it in that same exact situation. Honestly, what did she want the cops to do? Go over their and spank her for the mother?
I wish we had national say whatever the hell you want day. THis would be a much more peaceful Earth.
the joke is so.... cruel. he has a dead sense of humor, if he even has one, this `mike`.
The joke was funny, but he might have taken it a bit far.
(The above does not apply if the mother is a midget, or if the kid has one of those genetic disorders that makes her 400 lbs. Neither of which is likely.)
