"live television is rough, welcome to our world" roughly translates to " quit your b*tching, you screwed up" haha. that had to be so embarassing for that guy.
simple enough, I just got windows narrator to say something, recorded it and played it back to word`s speech recognition. it came up with a load of totally strange sentences like:
"we`re to place clapped boys in a bear I tried installing"
This is why I don`t want to download the windows vista beta. Reminds me of when I was at a thing at microsoft where they tried to show the Halo 3 trailer, except windows media player kept crashing when they tried to make it full screen. The blue screen of death happened for win. 98. Video: http://www.cnn.com/TECH/computing/9804/2...
Personally, I think it was a great demo. If it had gone off flawlessly, the reactions would have been 1) That`s amazing! and 2) Someone was typing offscreen. So, this shows that MS really is working on it. Kudos to them.
who gives a F88K about microsoft.. bill gates can go F88K himself for all i care.. hes` the douchebag !!! big Fking DEAL!! bunch of sorry dickwads too !!! and the reporter was MOST definitely a douchebag also !!!
Exactly Lando. Why not type? Because some people can`t. It doesn`t necessarily have anything to do with being lazy.
Also, if they could get it to work well, I think it would be nice, just because my brain moves faster than my hands, and sometimes I forget what I was going to say because I was typing my previous thought. lol
The main advantage though, would definitely be for people who have a disability and can`t type.
I wonder how it would handle cuss words, when you`re trying to get it to type what you said? Hmmm.
This also reminds me of the time I was using Windows 95 (or maybe 98? I don`t remember) and I typed "she" as "sshe." One of spell check`s suggestions was "chihuahua." No kidding. It doesn`t work anymore though, because they fixed it in the next version.
Exactly the same thing has happened to me. i spent several hours reading the first few chapters of the wizard of oz... "dorothy was" *computer does nothing "dorothy was" *computer does nothing "dorothy was" *computer does nothing "dorothy was" *computer accepts it as "dorothy was"
I get onto word and it does the exact same thing that`s seen here... but worse if possible.
VR has been out for years, the first VR i ever used was Dragon Talktype, took 12 hours no joke to set up, you had to read pages and pages of text, yes 12 hours it was not all done in one go and you could use the program without doing it but like the video you just saw if you didnt it mixed words up as there are so many different accents and pitch`s in peoples voices. i dont know about alot of people but i can type just about as fast as i can speak anyway O_o
Lmao :-D Blaming it on "ambient noice from the audience" or whatever didn`t make sence. I mean, there must have been dozens of people in the audience saying "This is a load of poo" but that didn`t come up on the screen, did it? Lol. But ya gotta give them credit, I mean it must be hard :-P
"Why not just type?" Well these are useful for producing live subtitles as there is a considerable delay with a person hearing it and typing it. I recon that the problem was that he didn`t do enough of the testing with it in that room beforehand.
my dad set one of these up once while tele was on and when he tried it, it came up with what was being said on adverts haha. "testing microphone thing F.A. premiership"
That idiot reporter`s clever little "quote" and the extreme close-up of his hideous pie hole after the footage was just annoying and inappropriate. Stop trying to be clever and extreme and just report the damn news.
lol, i`ll probs get vista neway, those voice things never work and i love em theyre such a laugh... why not just talk and just have someone type offstage somewhere...
its so funny to see ppl f*ck up
I doubt this will be the new "All your base are now belong to us!!" but it is entertaining.

Wow.
``lets not forget that the first letters spell wreck, as in train wreck``
OMG, that was so dry
that was gay.

"Live television`s rough, welcome to our world."
What an unprofessional news team. :p

How nice for a paralyzed person without any functioning hands.
There is a difference.
(go firefox!)
"Dear aunt, let`s set so double the killer delete select all"
that`s good stuff

"testing microphone thing F.A. premiership"
“the first part of recognition is wreck”
Beyond belief how lazy and moronic that sounded.
why not just talk and just have someone type offstage somewhere...
I dunno, but I can picture a "visually impaired"
person totally confounding someone with this lol.
First btw
