wow i failed bad. I didn`t even get one. I think this test is bull because just because you can`t think of theses stupid things and what they mean does not mean youre not intelligent.

i got ten before checking here.

the thing is, I knew they`d all be posted eventually.

however, i don`t think there`s anyone who`s gotten them all right off the bat.

which says to me that the best kind of intelligence is collective intelligence.

Just to set the record straight on all the "omg it`s so biased because of the religious questions".

This is a quiz that is found at the back of a READERS DIGEST. This is a monthly publication that is generally geared towards conservative older people. Thus the religious bend.

It is NOT an IQ test, just a brain booster to help people use their brains in a non-linear fashion to try to guard against developing dementia or alzheimers.

I only know this because I am OLD!!!

DiePSPolice, I`ve found that intelligence (or knowledge) is defined by how aware a certain being is of their surroundings. The more aware one is of information, feedback, and intuitive meanings, the smarter that person generally is. Test it and find out.

I`ve been at this all day and missed 8, 10, 15, and 18. I figured 15 had something to do with the bible (`the B`), though I had no idea what a psalm is and don`t care to know now. I`m satisfied knowing no one else got two of the ones I missed.

"Ok ok, everyoen is complaining about the religious questions and now I have to clarify it. To be termed a "genius", one must have a tiny bit of knowledge about all topics, including religion."

First of all, that`s retarded. A "genius" is not defined by how much useless trivia s/he has memorized.

Second, I don`t see all the questions related to any religions other than Christianity.
Would you consider yourself less smart because you can`t get this?

"42 is the Answer to Life, The Universe, and Everything"
Never heard of that before, is a genius supposed to have read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? I guessed "42 is the Answer to Life, The Universe, and Eternity"...

they got number 17 wrong... 42 is not the answer to life, the universe, and everything... it is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything...

*gigglesnort* Genius is not defined as having `a tiny bit of knowledge about all topics`.

Yeah, the bible ones dratING SUCK.

Did it say anything about reincarnation? The seven deadly sins? The pillars of islam? The eight days of passover? No.

Because it was written by Christian IDIOTS.

Also, many of the answers are such specific ways of saying things that even if you heard them all out loud, you might not even immediately recognize them.

Basically, some are simple, you fill in the blanks. While others are posterized, and you spend most of your time trying to get in the head of the ignorant author.

if we are going to get gramtically correct, it shouldve also been : "celsius, farhenheit, and kelvin" its a list, there needs to be a comma before the "and".

You do not have to have a third comma. Most people go by the rule, one less comma than the number of items, because its simple. It is gramatically correct to not have one before the and.

How is "the square root of -1 is an imaginary number" technically incorrect, mangamonkey? The last time I took a math class the square root of -1 is i - the imaginary number.

I`d just like to say that this test was stupid, i scored 10 on my own but a lot of the answers were contrived i mean "-1 is an imaginary number" is technically incorrect,

there were others similarly contrived but i`m too lazy to mention them :P

just fyi about the spelling of dwarfs/dwarves..
Wikipedia says that the imaginary creatures are usualy "dwarves" (spelling popularized by tolkein) while actualy human "small people" (i mean no offense by that so im sorry if it comes across as mean) are spelled dwarfs. but i`m pretty sure they`re fairly interchangeable

i had -1 is an impossible number but no

its also because its a proper name of a movie, they can do whatever they want with it .. just like the "toronto maple leafs"

Has anyone ever noticed that "dwarves" and "dwarfs" are both acceptable spellings in English? (I only know this because I was made that it wouldn`t give me the spelling dwarves in Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, but I guess that is not how they spelled it in the movie) I hate english.
