Tuning must be an issue everytime he wants to play in a different key; so much relies on open strikes and droning in tap-style playing.

"How many guitar players does it take to change a lightbulb?
100. Why? Because it takes one to change it, and 99 to say, "I can do that".

Best and truest joke ever!"

I used the sound recorder program. Heh.

But it`s called "Airtap!". See if you can get it ilegally or something...

Bah. Same thing over and over. Like to see him play something else. This style is attributed to Stanley Jordan. I once shot a guitar that looked just like that for "tapping" me on the shoulder after a night of poker and rockgut by the Pecos.

There`s a classical station in my area that played an orchestral piece that was played live on a single piano by like, seven people.

The played on a few of the keys, but had some of the strings raised so that they could use them in different ways. They used various parts of the body for different percussion.

I was so kool. I didn`t place a single sound in the song as comng from a piano.

There are a whole bunch or really cool alternative ways to use different intrsuments.

It`s pretty much a combination of tapping, popping, and slapping. Pretty cool, although the bad thing is that it sounds like something out of a car commercial (hate those stupid "electronica" songs).

not new at all. its pretty much double tapping with the f*cking guitar on your lap which is even easier.

I sound teched for a guy who played like this once, can`t remember his name but he was better than this guy. He stood up and jigged around while playing, and at one point had a conversation with the cellist whilst still playing with both hands. He also had a bit of velcro stuck on the body of his guitar and he used a loop delay pedal (it was an electo-acoustic guitar) to make a rythm to play to. He was awesome, shame he was up his own arse though.

Not freaking amazing; I imagine it`s easier to play this way than the "correct" way. Nevertheless, I found it more enjoyable than listening to "correctly" played guitar.

Eddie Van Halen did similar things, but when he first began doing that, he turned around so nobody could see what he did.
Different guitarists, different tecniques I guess.

If you like this, I have two words for you: Michael Hedges. He was the absolute king of amazing, wacked-out, fabulous-to-hear acoustic guitar music and used many similar techniques.

The difference is he had far more tricks up his sleeve than this guy is showing, and didn`t need to put the guitar in his lap to play. In fact, Michael was known to dance around in circles on one foot while doing this stuff.

People who can do extraordinary things are a dime-a-dozen.

People who can make them meanigful don`t come cheap.

Check out John Butler Trio`s link. They was MUCH better. Like, lightyears, quantum LEAPS and BOUNDS better.

Though, they both fall pray to the same flaw. (JBT ALOT less.)

Their are better songs out there.
And the overwhelming majority don`t need this craziness, or any other kind to set them apart. Musicianship is more than just a mechanical skill.

I`d rather listen to Tracy Chapman any day. And she never did anything like that on any of MY cd`s.

"That wasnt tapping! That was some trippy guitaris-ism-ing? though."

You`re only half right. It`s slap/tap playing.

That was amazing. Another good slap/tap player to check out is Trace Bundy.
