Yeh, I hate how modern art is expensive. i like looking it at, but face it, any ass can throw a can of paint or scan a piece of poo onto a canvas and sell it for 1 mil. it takes a genious to create sfumato paintngs, such as the mona lisa. god damn i forgot all my art words to impress you guys with! :(

Yeh, for 800 bucks, that`s retarded.

    This whole link is retarded.

It would be really easy to do the same damn thing... like you said Miss_Murder; make a fingerprint, scan it, photoshop it, and have it printed professionally. People will try to sell ANYTHING
    (see ebay)

i thought the DNA fingerprint was actually pretty cool, something like that i could actually see paying some good money for. although it is still quite pricey. it`s very unique, i think it`s better than a lot of "modern art" out there today...

why is this so expensive? There isnt a skill to it or anything. If you really wanted your fingertip on your wall, you could just do an ink print, blow it up big, then use it as a stencil and paint it just the same as they did

The fingerprint is just ugly. But if you`re curious, I believe the DNA portrait is an example of electrophoresis, where they would take your DNA and put it in one side of a gel block, then use an electric current to shoot the DNA across the gel. Your DNA makes specific imprints common only to YOUR DNA(or your clone`s).

    Kat seriously.

    Shut the hell up, please.

Yeah. This stuff is seriously overpriced, considering artists have almost nothing to do with it.

But not ALL modern art is crap. You have to learn about composition, color with harmonies, contras.

It is in no way "slapping paint on a canvas."

ALSO REMEMBER that archival quality art materials such as canvas can be very expensive. It`s not entirely the artist`s choide to charge that much. If you want a piece f art that isn`t going to rot in its frame, you need to pay.

And really, if you`ve ever been to an art gallery or something similar, what they are selling is not THAT overpriced.

Something of similar size done by a an artist with a brush couldeasily sell for more.
