The story is that Chappelle wasn`t satisfied with "The Lost Episodes" and if they were aired on Comedy Central, he wouldn`t go back to Comedy Central. As you can see, they were aired.I don`t believe the story is true though.

Wikipedia confirms that Chappelle converted to Islam (in 1998).

Where does it say Chappelle is a Muslim?

Kinda made with the whole "I can`t drink that, it has his amoebas in it!" mindset. But I did find it interesting that Dave was a muslim, as I did not know that. But otherwise it was rather boring.

It was pretty fun to read, even if it wasnt true, kind of like The DaVinci Code with Dave Chappelle.

Well, I hope he starts doing comedy again on TV, on his own terms. I enjoyed his show. It was pretty good, and certainly better than most episodes of SNL!

Did he get to keep the $50,000,000 for season 3 (or even a perecentage?) if he did isn`t he laughing, I mean with the first two series and good investment and taking DVD sales into account does he actually have to work again? So yeah who cares!

ryan14 -- This is the first I`ve heard of it, and it`s a giant load of horse sh*t.

Chapelle has given several interviews, and in all of them he`s consistent in his explanation that the overwhelming corporate control and changed atmosphere behind the scenes drove him away from the show. No conspiracy theories needed.

What a bunch of B.S.

I think that his explanation he gave when he was on "Inside the Actor`s Studio" was the closest to understanding his actions we are going to get.

block party was done well before he took his leave from his show. I watched him on inside the actors studio and he said pretty much the same thing B-HAZARD said. mostly that the system was weighing dwn on him and that it wasnt the first time its happend to him since it happend with another show he was working years ago. also he said that if comedy central goes and shows what they had of the 3rd season he`ll feel betrayed and wont be returning at all. he also asked all of his fans, if they are true fans, to not watch what comedy central airs of the 3rd season

It`s a bit too "tin foil hat" of a theory for my taste...I`m not buying it.
BET illuminati out to get Dave Chappelle- humbug

it`s not pointless...the show isn`t back (yet), this is talking about a theory as to how the show stopped. Thus, this isn`t pointless.

Yea but i meant to say "back" as in he returned from africa. there is still doubts though wheather he will return to doing the show or not. he was on oprah talking about this.

BULLdOGG, he`s not `back` in the sense that he`s doing the show again. He`s left that indeffinately. These `lost episodes` that are coming on now are only three (hardly funny, from what I saw) episodes that comedy central put out because he said he was done with the show.

I thought the money overwhelemed him and he wanted control for the show back. If I remember right he said Comedy Central wanted to produce more of it, while he wanted to keep making the creative decisions. And a few episodes into season 3 he left and told comedy central that if they aired those episodes he wasn`t going to work on a season 3 at all.

I`m pretty sure that`s what I heard. Don`t know where, or who from...hell maybe I`m just dellusional due to lack of sleep and I never heard it at all.
