    Goddam it....

....more co-eds are gonna get preggers now, thanks for giving them an excuse.

And due to that in the future there will be more old people on the road....

So what this crap is basically saying, is: If your the firstborn child of an under 25 year old Farmers wife born in Western USA, you have more chance of reaching 100...err...why Western America rather than, say, Southern England or Western Germany? All sounds a bit like yet another unproved theory based on very little evidence.

The Chruch wont like this one bit. 500 years ago this sort of science would have gone on the list of banned books for giving teens an excuse for getting pregnet.

Should I wait until science can look at all my mini-mes to single out the best or just try to get someone pregent ASAP? Should I use both just to be safe?

I know this post will probably have a little bashing, but I just ran in and told my husband about it. I`m trying to convince him to start trying for kids and he`s saying not yet...I`m almost 21 BTW. Now please don`t bash me. :-)

what is this a `calling all sluts` get pregnant and your child could be the longest living child. Also this is false because the earlier a women has a child the more likely it is to be born premature.

Premature births have nothing to do with how long someone lives. I have noticed that kids with problems are usually born to older parents (40+ years)

The chances of living to the ripe old age of 100 -- and beyond -- nearly double for a child born to a woman before her 25th birthday...

aren`t the chances of reaching 100 one in a BILLION? ok so double that.... still not that high...

Mwahahahaha I`m gonna outlive my stupid little brothers... I was born just before my mum`s 23rd birthday

But what I don`t understand is why they`re classing 25 as YOUNG to be having kids? I always planned to have kids as soon as I hit my 20`s... Okay, so I have, and don`t have kids, but I don`t have a partner either so that`s the only reason...

REASON IS MOST LIKELY PEOPLE ARE EATING `BETTER` AND A LOT MORE EXERCISE AND SH`T LIKE THAT...MANY FACTORS NOT REALLY HAVING YOUR MOMMY GIVING BIRTH TO YOU AT A YOUNG AGE. CULTURE AND OTHER SH`T LIKE THAT...

    actually, aftershock, it makes sense..

if your mom is younger when you are in the womb, then your mom will have a higher metabolism and transfer more of the nutrients and minerals to you while you are vulnerable, which makes you stronger and healthier.

Well, if that`s what you expect, that`s probably what will happen for you. However, I know of more people traveling to far-off countries in their 80s than in their 20s. Old age doesn`t have to be boring.

Young mother`s aren`t sluts. That`s horrible. Anyway, back in our parent`s generation people were getting married at a much younger age.

By the way there`s no solid proof of this but there is STATISTICS! And I`m sure 25`s not the dead set line, it`s just an average or something.

This makes me sad. My mom was 37 when she had me. I was a whole decade off. Poop. That sucks. I don`t want to die. I don`t want to have to think about if there even is an afterlife or a heaven or hell. My life isn`t even that great, but that doesn`t mean I want to die early.

Oh, and the fact that BOTH of my parents are diabetic doesn`t really help that either. :[
Oh well, I guess i should be blessed for even being born, right? Not that I`m religious.

My mom was 17, I am the first child, and I lived on a farm when I was younger... 3 out of 4 isn`t bad. But I don`t want to live to 100.

"i know someone whose mom had them when they were 11 and they are hella cool."

Um, yeah o.O Would you not find it a little weird that your mother is near enough the same age as yourself?

Wow, this was a popular post! So I apologize if someone has already pointed this out.

The scientists had finished by saying that most of the similarities held by centerians was speculation as to whether it had anything to do with their long life. However, the fact that a woman is born with all the eggs she will produce, and that they age (along with her) as she grows older. It only makes sense, that the younger the eggs, the better they are. That is why women over the age of 35 are warned that their chances of having birth defects increase from that age on. Their eggs are old and begin to deteorate. Unsure of all the other stuff, except that living on a farm means hard work and living off the land. Much healthier than someone who has never done hard physical labor and lives off fast food. Think about it folks.

People shouldn`t go around making judgements about people they`ve never met, or know anything about, or who`s name they don`t even know.

    Jerks.

I`m sure there are many factors that contribute to long life, I think they`re saying that that just could be one of them.

What you have to realize about this theory is that there are many flaws! First, the study was done on people who were at least 100 years old and born between 1875 and 1899. In those times, most people got married in their early and mid-teens and had kids by the time they were 20. Therefore, most of the people in the study would have had mothers who gave birth to them before the age of 25 anyway. Second, medical care in the late 1800s was prehistoric and there have been great technilogical advances in medicine and healthcare in the last century. Therefore, prenatal care is significantly more advanced and allows for more healthy babies to be born to older women. Current prenatal care standards were unheard of then. Third, the environment in which most children born to younger mothers in the 1800s lived was much more family oriented, traditional and low-stress than they usually are nowadays and all of these factors can be linked to a longer, healthier life.

In conclusion, the findings in this study cannot be proven factual or even reasonable for another 80-100 years when there is a group of centenarians born during the times of advanced medical technology and higher rates of marriage and childbearing in the late 20s and early and mid 30s to compare to the 1875-1899 study group. Let`s wait awhile before we try to use the lifestyles and families of people born two centuries ago to conclude which of us will live to see 100!
