oh yeah last post i meant to say 8-9 year olds!!
By the way, this is my 100th post! Yay! :-D
my sister married an Italian and thus lives in Italy, her children are driven by the schools there to an insane degree, including hours of homework through entire evenings, and half a day Saturday.. don`t talk to me about how we push.
hack cough NERDS!
but yeh, i HATE parent coatches, they themselves are no good so they make their kids do what they couldn`t, usually the kid doesn`t even wanna do it.overcompetitive non-nice individuals.
"Ragin2340Friday, June 02, 2006 8:40:06 AMI never fainted when I did there spelling bees but for a lot of kids I remember there was alot of pressure on them. Mostly it came from the parents wanting them to when so bad. Reminds me of parent coaches."
Something tells me that you wouldn`t ever "when" a spelling bee. I mean, against those other kids? "There" spelling ability is so much better than yours.
we have inboxes?
"Stop the clock"
oh well. heres to kids actually caring about education... errr... words.
And he must of had a dictionary down there, so he fainted on purpose :P
Oh, and Noahcaecus, Ragin spelled "there" pefectly correctly. It was his grammar that was wrong, not his spelling. Wow, I am nitpicking today, aren`t I?
The only google results for it were all about this clip - how can anyone have any idea how to spell a word that isn`t even on the internet? the internet knows EVERYTHING.
and I watched this last night, too. Absolute craziness.
And I know I would have fainted as well. I have bad anxiety with crowds, so knowing everyone`s watching me in the audience and on tv would have killed me, lol.
Nope, it was only a state one. And as you age spelling kind of dies on nonimportant things.
No, but seriously, I watched the finals last night. Those kids are intense, and all the parents looked rather crazed.
And what`s with the spelling bee always being broadcast on ESPN?
He knows he`s on national television, and he`s got a flair for the dramatic.
He`ll probably be a drama major in five years.
not to mention a lot of them know like 4 languages and where the words come from and how they are used..crazy
Fainting can actually be a common thing at these.
Unless the person faints and is out cold they aren`t to help them up as there is plenty of room on the stage for them to collapse.
Strangly they all know this...apparently it`s caused by the whole locking your knees thing.
No I`m not a fan, I looked this up.
funny either way
she didn`t even twitch when he fell. :D
Because they were too busy laughing
