Vindicate....not sure how you think I`m doing drugs? This whole discussion Sabre and I were having was based on people doing drugs, THEN joining the military. Not doing drugs while IN the military. I did drugs when I was a teenager, not now. I take a random drug test at least once a month. If I was retarded enough to do drugs I wouldn`t last very long. Next time you want to sit on your high horse and point fingers with your sarcasm get your facts straight. What a tard!

USMarine - Big props for being a marine. Though I do wonder what your superiors would say if they knew of your drug use.

Just get the feeling they wouldn`t approve, and can`t place why. Couldn`t be because it`s against federal law... no... not that at all.

Here`s a thought... revolutionary too... how about, if you like pot and want to smoke it, move to Amsterdam. It`s legal there. That way you get your pot, and people who don`t like it don`t have to deal with you in America. Seems simple to me. And from the laws they have there, seems a lot more tolerant and free than America is turning out to be. Just a thought. And since the law is on my side (for now), it works for me!

Sabre, don`t worry about it man. I was having a bad day. Although, I`d like to point out that your research is based on the Army. The Marine Corps have a pretty strict drug waiver policy. Most people who want to be a Marine but can`t, join the Army. Thats not an attack on the Army, their awesome too. It`s just the truth. Over all, I agree I guess. There really are a lot of ex-drug users in the military. But, in their defense and my own....Good grades don`t mean a thing when you can shoot someone from 500 yards out. One shot, one kill.

Actually I have heard several bands explain that energy in a similar way.

Obviously you didn`t get the point..and the research does equal a lot. Fred was an honor student in highschool, as was I..so I obviously don`t think idiots join.

The research means that out of 400,000 soldiers..approx. 100,000! of them were drug users..to me..that`s a lot.

This wasn`t an attack on you, just wanted to say it can screw up a lot of peeps lives. If it`s by choice even when you had other options I applaude you.

you know what Nirvana was not influencial or very talented at all. they were an average grunge band that came out of nowhere that high brainless teenagers could relate their pooty lives to. sorry just all their songs sound the same and i can;t stand Curt Cobains voice. this interview didnt even look like they were stoned

i like when he starts talking about the trees and then kurt starts starring into space. and my favorite part is, "break into a break steal the car radio- sell food stamps- pawn it hahaha learn to play pool real well"

Sabre200000: Drugs are bad I know. I don`t think I understand your point though. Do you think the military is easy? Do you mean a lot as in your opinion? Or a lot as in "1 of 4 drugs users join the military as a result?” (Based on research).
And what do you mean by thats ALL they had left? You must think that war fighting is for stupid and uneducated people who run out of options so why not join the military. Tell Chesty Puller that. Tell the mortar men that when they land a round the size of a small football 2000 meters away in the dark within 15 feet of their target, while under fire taking into account wind, weather and their surroundings etc and as a result save Freds life. In case you missed the purpose of that, it takes a little brain power (to say the least) to figure out where that round will land. What about the guy who graduated OCS top of his class? Or the young Marine who leads 3 of his friends into battle. I`d give my life for any of them. Ignorance is bliss

very nice.. very nice. good music, AND they have great interviews. see, this is why pot should be legal.. instead of puking and being an arsehole and driving drunk, you could be happy and gleeful and have some REALLY intelligent conversations.

...waiting to get yelled at =)

^^"I was a pot head for years, yet some how I`m still ok enough to be a Marine and defend our freedom? Go figure"

Don`t take this the wrong way because I fully support our troops, in fact my good friend Fred is stationed in Hawaii, but I agree with the go figure...a lot of drug users have to turn to the military because they made bad choices...and well that`s all they had left...hmmmm

that clip bores me

but i still like their music

The haters are just jealous they aren`t rich and famous. Nirvana rocked! So what if they`re all weird and....stoned. They`re GRUNGE! It`s not like they`re some Christian rock band or something. I still remember seeing on MTV that he was dead. I wasn`t all sad or anything but why label all druggies as losers? I was a pot head for years, yet some how I`m still ok enough to be a Marine and defend our freedom? Go figure.

What they are saying and how they are acting is not an effect from pot. Weed doesn`t change your personality and make you say random things and act like a fool, it just relaxes you. Let`s get things straight before we make harsh accusations about pot users.

Anyone remember that film Waiting? It had Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long in it?

Anyway, the new guy in Waiting who never gets to speak looks kinda like a young Dave Grohl.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0197855/

Strangely enough, this guy also plays drums in a band...

XP, yeah, very sound argument, wow, out of all the people who take cannabis, maybe 1% are in the music business? probably less. And how many of those are rock stars, that go on to kill themselves?

You can never try to use cause and effect on a correlation, the correlation that some people who take drugs kill themselves. Maybe they killed themselves for the same reason they did drugs, due to a personality type, and even then there are many drug users who don`t kill themselves.

and thats exsactly why i think kurt didn`t kill himself. The reason he supposedly killed himself (this is what "he" wrote in "his" death letter) was because he didn`t get a big vibe from being up on stage and he just didnt like it. Yet there he is talking about how great it it. Courtney love blaitaintly blew his head off!

ten_10:This was before Kurt had a kid.

They were just stoned and just running their mouths about anything that came into their stoned minds. Drugs are cool kids, you should do them. Look at these guys, they were rock stars! and then one of them killed himself.. It just proves that drugs make you a famous rock star and then make you kill yourself. Yup, can`t argue with that logic.

I didn`t particularly like them, nor do I now I`m a "growed-up", but that video was still pretty funny. You know, I`d never actually seen any videos with Kurt in them just talking, I`ve only ever seen the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" music video. I found it funny that he said not to reproduce when he had a daughter and reportedly loved her more than anything in the world...

"Didn`t one of them kill themselves? Sorry, I don`t pay attention to the "entertainment" industry`s drama."

Yes, that would be Kurt Cobain. I can`t believe you haven`t heard of him yet. I knew he committed suicide when I was in the first grade, but then again, that`s just me... :-P And Nirvana has been my favorite band for a looooooong time.

Vin, just take it as free will. People are no smarter, or dumber, for choosing to live4 their lives the way they do. What successes and failures they have, are all relative to their onw design, as is the time that they have.

IE: If you like to do drugs, you are doing them for a reason. You feel better with them than without. Therfore, you are living your life to what you believe to be the fullest.

Now, this video is nothing more than a look back at someone who helped a lot of people come to terms with their own feelings. Every day new artists do just that; hell, it`s why we pay entertainers so much.

Cruxshadows - I`d laugh my ass off if they were thrown in jail because of it. To my knowledge, that didn`t happen. Thus, not so much funny, no.

Though I`d still challenge the people who use the "natural substance" argument to try some other natural substances and check out the results. Mmm... cyanide. Yum! ooo... uranium! Double yum!

Didn`t one of them kill themselves? Sorry, I don`t pay attention to the "entertainment" industry`s drama.

Just more evidence why potheads are too stupid to live. Go `head, flame me for that. I need something to roast these marshmallows anyway.

Though the whole "it`s natural" argument is crap. Mercury is a natural substance. So`s arsenic. And poison ivy. Don`t see people using those to alter their personalities/minds/whatever.

Eh, druggies are dumbasses. End.
