Of course it does. Magnets are basically made from Iron, or have a high Iron content.

crazy... kinda cool though. To all those who mentioned things like prying a beer can off your hand, try drinking a little less, and reading a little more.

I`ll bet in, say, 15 years this will be popular. Hell, they`ve got alot more use than things like lip rings. It`s only a matter of time before they make them safe enough for general use.
I`d definately get one IF they made them safer. I would love being able to feel my computer working...

that was because the magnets were hand dipped and there were thin spots where the person was holding them. i would do it if they perfected it.

WARNING, FOR ANYONE READING THIS. PLEASE go read the second article he posted, found on BME`s main page. The magnets are NOT safe, they corrupted and he had to have them removed. Read it, and if you`re considering getting these, reconsider, it is EXTREMELY dangerous. I ask that IAB post the other article with this, as this is misleading, it doesn`t represent the dangers of the surgery.

I would get it done for the 6th sense if the procedure was perfected and not too expensive, think it sounds kinda cool.

I think it`s a cool idea.

At first I was like WTF and got a little grossed out, but then I kept reading and it made more sense... But most people stick with their immediate reaction and don`t take the time to open their minds to new ideas. Hence the people who keep making comments that "you would get stuck together" even after you explain to them that the magnets are too small and weak for that. Of course some people will think it`s stupid and gross no matter what, but I guess I am just saying that peoples` closed-mindedness becomes very apparent when they are introduced to ideas outside of their norms.

I saw this on BME, and it seems like a novel idea to me. I mean, yes, there are health hazards, but what ever. It gives you an entirely new 6th sense.
Also, the magnets aren`t strong enough to stick to things. They merely vibrate and stuff under the skin when they get close to a metal or go through one of those things that keeps people from stealing in stores.
It`d be interesting to have. I`d get them if I a) had the money and b) didn`t have to worry about whether or not it would effect playing the violin.

people wear magnetic bracelets with no problem. does iron even react to magnets? Magnets dont do anything to iron pills, i dont think.
0
Reply
Male 279
that`s crazy wouldnt that like do something to the iron in your blood and give you health problems as the result of iron clustering towards the magnets?

That guy put magnets in his hands as an experiment!?

Extreme. And the mags look a little dodgy.

Male 923
^^ That would not happen, the magnets are not strong enough to lock together. One day if they ever perfected the dusting method I would deffinrally have this done.

I hope that I am not the only one who is saying to themselves...."Gee, what happened to the pure emotional feelings when holding hands or kissing being all that was necessary?" I think that it’s interesting, but all of that injury to the hand and torso, for very little result just doesn’t seem worth it. And what happens when your kissing and the magnets lock together? Its like two people with braces getting stuck together.

Looks like they`d hurt a lot :S and i dunno bout that sexual effects, if it said it doesnt have enough magnetism to pick up objects i dont think it`d do much
