As for being able to treat HIV, we can stall it with tablets, and allow people to live a near normal life for a much longer period. However, the way America, and large european drug companies see it is that there is no money to be made in producing the tablets with alot of the cases being in poorer countries. Therefor, those of you getting annoyed with Bayer over htis, may want to ask yourselves why people are suffering with AIDS when we do know how to help slow the virus down. At the end of the day it all comes down to money and market, even with something like this.
If Bayer can "infect" the AIDS virus.. then we should have already been able to find a way to get rid of it. If there is a way to harvest it and put it in a drug, then there is a way to kill it.I dont think that this is true, adn if it is then obviously we arent doing our part to stop the virus from spreading and we arent looking for a cure.Thats the obvious underlying statement.Anyone else agree? Or did this not make any sense to anyone but me?"
do you know how AIDS works? They didnt manufacture it, what happened is blood that was infected with AIDS got into the medicine, they didnt start with a few aids cells, grew them in a labratory, and then released it. The original infection was unintentional, but what they did with it is absolutly atrocious and an embarassment to society. thousands, perhaps millions of children dead just to make a buck.
People like you get on my fu.cking azz nerves and need to get a life. Stop starting political or country battles over everything. Get a fuc.king life and stop being a who.re azzhole.Besides, France is an awesome place and dont judge places until you have been there yourself buddy. Why do you hate it so much? Rumours? One person you met online? (NOTE EVEN A FEW PEOPLE DONT REPRESENT THEIR WHOLE COUNTRIES ATTITUDE)Get a life (even if its low) and go complain to your mommy if you want to complain about Countries. You sicken me.
The fact that they were banned from using it in the states shows that, at the very least, the FDA knew of the harm it was causing because it was contaminated with AIDS. Even though we were still in the infancy of knowledge about AIDs, the Medical community did infact know enough about AIDS to know of problems like this and that it would be very dangerous.
Well, our government is also sending our troops to a fiery doom in forfeign places for no apparent reason.
"AIDs is a horrible STD and should not be made fun. I would like to apoligise fully for the song and hope you will find it in your hearts to forgive me. But bugger am I deleteing it!"
That`s messed up, but this is OLD news...probably claimed that they "just missed it" and that the blood had already been sold or something along those lines.
Anyone see that new stuff on how certain people are immune to aids. They`ve started researching that immunity now. Turns out it`s the same people in a liniage that was immune to the black death...very kool stuff.
It`s caused by a mutation in their blood cells that rejects the infecting viruses.
Yours Truly,Nicolas DirtCEO, Bayer Corporation
That`s awful except for the fact that France was one of the places they dumped it on, good move. Fu<k France!
Like I was saying before, this is all in the past. I`m sure they have done plenty of research since then or France would have a bigger problem with us then they do now.
Honestly Clayboy, this all happened in the past, yah we can all get pissed, boycott Bayer and protest, but what will it do? Nothing. I hate to say this, but the Holocaust happened in the past and there is nothing we can do about that. Should we boycott the Germans? No, and I think a lot of people are quick to judge all Americans like that too.
Americans are so addicted to man made drugs it isn’t funny; we`re even going to Canada to get them for cheaper. Americans are made to think that they need all this fake poo when really most problems can be solved with healthy eating and exercise.
The one thing we do know is that Bayer knew about it and basically killed innocent people to make a buck. That in my opinion is the real issue.
"The same bayer i take for my back pain"I will now attempt to sprea this all over the internet!
Who`s with me?!?
Read the links, it was a blood/plasma based product, thats why the virus could survive.
The story is true, it is old, but the lawsuits are now being settled. Though it is deplorable, AIDs was greatly misunderstood at first, and it took time for science in general to come to grips with the way the virus worked.
Don`t be an idiot and think Bayer knowingly infected people with AIDS, hopping no one would notice. If that were true, BAYER wouldn`t exist today. Once they realized there were problems, they began testing all products for AIDS. It wasn`t just Bayer who didn`t fully account, at first, for the dangers of AIDS.
If Bayer can "infect" the AIDS virus.. then we should have already been able to find a way to get rid of it. If there is a way to harvest it and put it in a drug, then there is a way to kill it. I dont think that this is true, adn if it is then obviously we arent doing our part to stop the virus from spreading and we arent looking for a cure.Thats the obvious underlying statement.Anyone else agree? I didn`t know about the whole Nazi thing with Bayer, that`s pretty disturbing if it is true.
I have to say, it is unfortunate that America`s law system can be used and abused and has enough loopholes to let these people off scott free, it is quite embmarassing. However, if you are using that as a way to generalize that all Americans are OK with it, then you are an ignorant bastard. A lot of you are saying "well why didn`t they check it in other countries?" In the 80`s it wasn`t easy to detect the AIDS virus, even in the USA.
They didn`t mention Sweden either - but there are several people here that has been struck with the disease from using the drug.
