True, but $10,000 to them is like 75cents to me. It`s pocket change. Not to say the organisations don`t need that kind of money, but anyone can mail off checks. I have more respect for celebs that not only use their money, but their own time too. Like, going to fundraisers, or helping build things or whatever. THAT shows real character.

Well, if you guys don`t like the fact that celebs make so much money for sittin on their as*es and smiling at the camera, maybe you shouldn`t be buying those $5 mags or paying $12 for tickets to see a movie or buy a cd or paying $25 for a dvd? They get paid more b/c that`s what the public wants to see.
And think about it, would you rather them using their money for a cause that helps the world or would you rather them use it for eating out and buying million dollar mansions? A lot of celebs recognize they`re blessed with $$ and looks and they use it to their advantage to help an organization. Let them. Whatever their intentions are, at least they`re helping...
Can you donate 10,000 to a hospital or another organization? No? Then stop being jealous and let the people who have $$ to spare do it.

I thought it was funny. I like the part at the end, about Antonio Banderas. "Looks Optimistic when he`s smiling." =)

Finally. It doesn`t really bother me that celebs make so much money, it just that when I see them on talk shows flouting their causes and acting like they have actually done something in life...that gets me. They look pretty and squawk their lines and that`s all; they`re useless. Angelina Jolie has adopted a couple of kids and that`s good, but why not donate a million dollars or so (like 1/10th of her last movie deal) and help thousands of kids? Because it doesn`t equal the same amount of screen time. Celebrities, and all the people that defend them, suck.

`Why I am a Maths Teacher`
ok so being a maths teacher is important but it doesn`t mean we can`t indulge in celebrities aswell - most people roll their eyes at the word `celebrity` and start going on about society etc etc but would you rather read about maths teachers in the showbiz column?

Because being ugly is one of the worst things a person can be! It also means that his article isn`t as good as it would be if it was written by a beautiful person.

Being beautiful or famous doesn`t necessarily prevent you from being a decent human being. This just seemed petty and jealous (and what wonderful contribution has the author given to the world lately?). If Angelica Jolie is able to use her good looks to help a single soul living in horrid conditions, good for her.

I agree with Dasniper, Football players get paid millions while A person that works his (or her) ass off gets bearly anything.

Damn entertainment industry...

Some of it was amusing. Who else sensed bitterness from whoever wrote the commentary?

That link is so true it makes me wanna cry. And what`s with them saying you can gain insights into someones pesonality from the way they look? Sounds a like the kinda bullpoo phrenologists used to advocate.

"The article goes on to mention that to unwind, Howard murders prostitutes, feeds live cats to ATMs and returns videotapes."

That bit just cracked me up.

I don`t really think you can tell all that much about someone`s personality by looking at the tip of their nose..

Who cares, celebrities are just people who pretend to give to society on tv/movies and get paid millions for it and respected like gods. While people who actualy contribute to sociery; police, firefighters, teachers, get paid peanuts. Makes alost of sense, but what does in this world.
