Anyway, I always love demolitions like that, mainly from the explosions...

General cooling tower. Could have been any sort of power plant, so what is your evidence that it was nuclear?

It`s just a cooliung tower. there was nuclear reactor in sight. Oh and by the way, that`s not an implosion. It`s just a controlled Explosion.

it was demolition, and it was an implosion because it was designed to fall IN on itself, rather than EXploding and flying all over the place.

    aside from that dumbass post...

it was cool that it was so far away that the sound from the detonations didnt arrive for quite awhile after the tower fell

Thats some "implosion" it went down sideways? Headseed is right, its supposed to explode inward so no debris gets out anywhere else.

That was Trojan Nuclear power plant. It was in SW Washington state about 1/2 hour from my house. It hasn`t been operating for a long time, maybe 10-15 years? They had it on the news here in Portland from like 10 different angles, including helicopter close-ups from overhead. Pretty cool! Wish I could`ve been there. And no, they weren`t charging to see it. They closed down the freeway nearby just in case of mishaps.

Attention dumbasses who ain`t into book lernin`, and are concerned about radioactivity being released from the cooling tower`s demolition - The water circulating through a cooling tower at a nuclear plant is not radioactive, and it does not come into contact with any radioactive material. In fact, such water is often drawn from, and released back into, a local water supply. Hence why we often find Nuclear plants nears rivers or other large bodies of water. The Steam we see eminating from the tops of these towers is harmless, fresh water steam. The process of evaporation is used to dissipate the heat of the nuclear reaction. So all you ignorant reactionarys who stupidly conclude that there is danger involved in bringing down that tower, be thankful that there are smarter people than you in charge of these things.

But yeah, there is a helicopter perspective of this happening that is a far better view.

If the whole plant was blasted, they would probably remove all the radiated things, so there would be a minimum risk of radiation.

Great blast though! I love the way the sound comes three seconds later!
