Especially his jokes about muslims are great, I`ve heard. The reactions are somewhat similar to how the rest of our world get whenever Bush acts. What do you say? Ah.

    Touché!

"Like him or hate him- he does have a good sense of humour"

    Quote from online article:
"Those seated near Bush told E&P`s Joe Strupp, who was elsewhere in the room, that Bush had quickly turned from an amused guest to an obviously offended target as Colbert’s comments brought up his low approval ratings and problems in Iraq.".

"Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you do in your head? You can look it up....Now I know some of you are going to say, `I did look it up, and that`s not true.`...That`s cause you looked it up in a book. Next time look it up in your gut."

Said it once and I`ll say it again. Colbert is a funny SOB

That was neither witty nor funny. People like John Cleese, Bill Engvall, and Ryan Stiles make me laugh myself to tears. I didn`t so much as smile during Colbert`s "roast".

I`m sorry, Colbert just isn`t funny. He`s not quite as horrible as John Stewart though. I can`t believe people watch that crap, but then again, South Park is about the only thing worth watching on Comedy Central anyways.

I agree with Indigo_M. There are far better "roasts" I`ve seen. This was utter crap. The reason Steven Colbert and John Stewart are considered "funny" and "witty" is because they target Bush. The formula for a joke is fairly simple for the left: target Bush or Cheney and its an instant classic?

"Why did the chicken cross the road? To get away from Bush! LOL LOL LOL"

"Why are coffee beans brown? Because Bush sucks! LOL LOL LOL"

"How many Presidents does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None, because Bush can`t count! LOL LOL LOL"

"What is the one thing terrorists are most afraid of? Going hunting with Dick Cheney! LOL LOL LOL"

And you see, this has been going on for what, several years now? It`s beyond beating a dead horse. I`ve laughed at some Bush-bashing jokes (because there are several that are actually funny), but most are just to take a hate-filled jab at the man or are tired and cliche.

    Funny, how l

*Funny, how the liberals say that all they want is peace, yet they love to exhibit an overwhelming amount of hatred and animosity towards a few select people. I find it easy to compare modern-day liberals with that of the Communists in China, where the government "wants prosperity for the people", but ends up bringing the country into the hands of corruption and poverty, only by maintaining itself by stifling freedoms of its peoples (who usually accept the fact that such an act by the government is reality) and murdering people who oppose the government. But who cares about that, right? Anyone`s better than Bush. They could`ve put Hussein up for election instead of Kerry and liberals still would have voted for him.

Not all funny, but some hilarious stuff:

"and you people of the press type those decisions down. Make, announce, type. Put them through a spell check and go home. Get to know your family again. Make love to your wife. Write that novel you got kicking around in your head. You know, the one about the intrepid Washington reporter with the courage to stand up to the administration. You know -- fiction."
"Now I know there`s some polls out there that say this man has a 32 percent approval rating. But guys like us, we don`t pay attention to the polls. We know that polls are just a collection of statistics that reflect what people are thinking in `reality.` And `reality` has a well known liberal bias.""

SNL bashes Bush a lot (the head writer, Tina Fey, hates Bush with all her heart) but I don`t hear many people claimin SNL is great.

What are you TALKING about that they just use the same fomular jokes all the time, that is a lot of bull... A lot of the show isn`t only about bashing Bush and Cheney, they take stabs at Fox news a lot, Bill O`Reily, Ann Colter ::shiver::, Hiliary Clinton, Al Gore, bears and pretty much anything they can make fun of.

Get over it you bitter right winged "haters." Don`t use that arguement that they only make simple jokes about Bush and friends. I feel like maybe one day you should actually sit down, watch it, and pay the drat attention.

Oh and- Of course there are far better roasts you`ve seen because they weren`t about the President of the United States... while sitting just feet away... at a fancy dinner. Colbert was in character as well. It wasn`t supposed to be crazy hits and blows because his role is to be on the side of the president and the right wing. Of course by doing so making them seem like extreme failures and cooks.

the " talk into your table numbers" thing and the glacer bit was awsome, but seeing people`s reactions was a bit awkward, like some one before said. the people that attend his how all agree with him, but he was litteraly in thick of every one he makes fun of. brave man. awsome man.
by the way, MAD TV kiks SNL`s butt any day. <3

    Agree starrstreet.

I thought it was a lot funnier than the `president & his doppleganger` part...and simple humor argument is b.s., it`s more complicated humor than the simple classic humor of bush/doppleganger for example.
They did a good job of matching the type of humor with the right audience, if you get what I mean (duh??).

i have never heard of colbert but i really liked this clip. he has got some balls and im guessing wont be invited back anytime soon. I like the way he did it, some was subtle, some not. im just guessing but i reckon bush didnt understand it all and that stupid grin on his face was annoying. the only weak part was the end with the old woman, i get it but it was a bit OTT and pointless, especially after a strong 20 minutes of criticism.

    great post.

The best part is watching how the clueless iab users indiscriminately lump the liberals and conservatives together into two massive camps as if there is no room for deviation from some unwritten set of rigid and unyielding principles and values that pertain to each.

There goes Maelstrom_x again spouting off against "liberals" like he has something interesting or remotely intelligent to say... we`ve heard enough of your stereotypical anti-liberal rhetoric already. Every time someone dares to criticize Bush for the pooty job he`s doing you feel the need to make these long pointless postings, and we get it already you`re not saying anything new. Post again when you get a clue about the fact that it is not all liberal vs. conservative and step out of your two-dimensional way of thinking.
