This is brilliant! So much creativity, and it didn`t get repetitive like the original battles in star wars. Excellent work guys.

IMPRESIVE I ENJOYED HOW YOU COMBINED MORE OF THE MARTIAL ARTS STYLE FIGHTING (CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN LIGHT SABER)AND THE BATTLE ITSELF ESPECIALLY THE ENDING VERY CREATIVE.. NOW I MIGHT JUST BE A LITTLE TO STONED TO UNDERSTAND THE VERY ENDING BUT..I GIVE IT A 9 OUT OF 10 AND WOULD PROBABLY WATCH IT A FEW MORE TIMES AND DEF. E-MAIL IT.. HEY IF YOU GUYS GET THIS (THE CREATERS I`M TALKING TOO) AND YOU WANT TO PUT SOMETHING ELSE TOGETHER I HAVE SOME IDEAS.. EVEN TO BUILD ON THE PROJECT YOU HAVE NOW OTHER THAN THAT KEEP BLOWING UP THAT CREATIVE BUBBLE..

that was pretty cool. i was actually like "OHHH" when they were both trying to get the light saber and the guy uses `the force` and it stabs the other dude. yeah. i think they got some of the choreography came from different movies...cause some distinct moves looked familiar...

It`s most likely they used Adobe after effects (its creditied at the end of the film) Theres a program that does it here on IMB called LSMaker. Havent tried it yet but it looks pretty good. That was some awesome coreography in that! If you want to see a really shabby (but comical) attempt at some kind of fight like that goto stupifive.angelcities.com and watch The Stickfighter.
This gets 4* in my book, I can`t wait to try stuff like this out.
And yea, almost definitely they`re media/film students. Not even geeks have that kind of time on their hands!

to use hte force and get it back up they shot it in reverse so they woud throw it down then rewind it so it looked like theyd reach out to get it...that was really cool...

Actually, going off what Rammstein221 said, the light saber blade is just the emittance of antiprotons, which in reality are so volatile that they explode upon contact with protons. The energy it requires to have an antiproton is so large that it would naturally form and let off light because of the speed at which all the atoms would be moving in order to reach such a high level of heat. However, light sabers are impossible because in the movies, they stop after about a meter or so, because of the crystals R(which Rammstein221 mentioned) to refract the saber to only a certain length. But real light`s path would not stop after a certain distance, it would continue until it hit a solid object. And, since it`s actually antiprotons, the "blade" would last mere seconds because the movement and speed of the atoms would ensure protons and antiprotons colliding and explode and thus destroy the fabric of the blade.

But, you have to hand it to Lucas. His science fiction was creative

This was an awesome star wars fan creation, and I`ve seen many on theforce.net and starwars.com. I was laughing throughout, and the ending was great. extremely worthy of 4 stars. and liking star wars doesn`t make you a geek or a nerd. Face it, most people like star wars if you don`t you`re out of it or you are narrow-minded.

Light sabers aren`t lasers. They`re just like electricity going through several crystals which limits the size of the beam. Even if they were that big it wouldn`t help much because there are various things that can completely stop a light saber, such as another lightsaber, or there is this certain type of mineral which can be made into suits or whatever. Also, if they could just kill everyone in one swipe, that wouldn`t make for a very good movie now would it?

Male 2,720
What a finely tuned ballet... two dudes rolling around on the floor, touching "swords". Heh.

No, pretty good i guess. Question: why aren`t light sabers like 100 ft. long when you switch `em on? Or 1000 ft.? They`re supposed to be lasers, right? And lasers shoot kinda like forever, until they hit something, no?
So then you could kill a ton of dudes with the flick of your wrist. Wipe out the entire battlefield with one saber. Or whatever.

I actually know how they did that (except for the hovering) I have the program at home. What you do, is you select the two points - the end of the lightsaber blade, and the end of the handle. Then it creates a band of light in the designated space between. You just do this frame by frame, but still, that was amazing.

30 secs passed: Still waiting for opening credits to dtop. boooriiing.
1 min passed: Wowed by the incredible coreography (is that how its spelled?) of the battle and the realness of the lightsabers.
2 mins and 30 secs passed: Boooriiing.
...and that`s the problem. Nice flashy effects but way too similar. Got boring very fast. Still, they could get rich by doing this for a living.
