footbllpimp... what was "gay" about it? I didnt see anything homosexual. Unless you`re another idiot who uses "gay" to mean "bad".

And also, to whoever said it was disturbing that the audience were laughing at a lady falling down the stairs, they were laughing because the person falling down the stairs was a really obvious stuntman, badly fitting wig and all. It was easier to see on real TV.

Shouldn`t it be the same number worldwide? You`re a bit f##ked if you`re in some random country and you`ve got no clue what the number is

It`s 0118 999 881 999 119 725...3

Actually, I think the IT crowd is pretty good. Some of the acting is great, the scary dude from last week was fab. Not as good as Father Ted (obviously), but still really good.

Funny. I don`t like the it crowd, because i think that some of it is poorly acted, but this clip was good. btw, 112 on mobile phones (i think) means that the services can vaguely find where you are. Or something. Meh-Who cares?

In America, the "11" just follows a number for any special service.

211 number for health and human services
311 department of communications
411 information services
511 travel information services
611 your phone provider`s service number
711 gives a menu for disabled persons
811 reserved for linemen for connection status
911 emergency services

Just a reminder to those who didn`t know...

he is the most itnelligent person here. so that explains to us all why we use 911. i remember those old spin phones my grandma used to have one.

HA...an American is saying that?
Wow, who`da thaught
In a report, it`s said that Americans
are getting rid of pavements, to make
way for cars.
Another report said, a woman complained
that she couldnt get a parking spot
when she was going to the gym, and
a woman drove her son the bus-station
which was on the other side of the road.

come on! he`s making this stuff up. you can tell he`s european too cus u cant understand wtf he`s saying. an old lady going to a gym seems odd to me. hmm... anyway..

*ahem* Sorry to say this to such a patriotic person, but, no it`s not. Anyway, 999 is quicker, plus in the UK you can just press 99 and it automatically assumes you need the emergency service. So ha.

actually it might be faster by like a... hmm.. a millisecond or two... maybe europeans might get their emergency service just in time before the atomic nova blast reaches them. (referring to atomic link above)

i reallllyyy hate dumases like this one..

Yeah, but if you press 99, and you didn`t mean too, you`ve dialed the emergency line, and now you`re taking up precious emergency phone line.
And, believe me, the fraction of a milisecond you may or may not save by not traversing the extra inch or two to the 1 from the 9 isn`t life saving.
Besides, that just shows how lazy you are. I mean, cmon, you can`t even dial the whole number!

HA...an American is saying that?

NOW try and say we aren`t lazy, and if
being lazy means we get the emergency
services faster, then yes
Im proud to be lazy.

No! 123 is evil! It`s the talking clock, and when i was asked to reset my answer machine number for my mobile i thought "123 will be easy to remember" now when i try and listen to my message all i get is "the time is now.. 9:14... now it`s 9:15 etc etc"

I live in California, every time I`ve called 911 I`ve gotten a busy signal. You have to know the local number for the fuzz to get a person, if your lucky you "may" get a unit to respond, I`ve never seen one though, after about four or five hours I`ve left the scene.
