Ok, it was funny in 2003. It`s not still funny in 2006. Why is it that people feel they must twist and alter the president`s words for humor? All you have to do is slow any of his speeches by 10% and he sounds like a drunkard.

Did any of you notice Hillary`s smirks during the part about the terrorist surveillance program? Did you see the part where the Democrats applauded themselves for destroying efforts to save Social Security? Of course not. You only see what you want to see. Democrats have no shame. The only consolation is that they are finally revealing themselves for what they really are.

Doppel, do you fricken work for Republicans? You must have gotten a copy of their talking points.

Its not "Terrorist Surveillance" that democrats are pissed about, its DOMESTIC SPYING ON INNOCENT US CITIZENS. Nice use of a republican talking point though, way to cloud the issue. You people are so good at that!

And "Save Social Security." You mean privatizing a government program is going to save it? Again, right from the playbook.

Democrats revealing themselves for what they Are? What, concerned about average americans and resisting tax cuts for the rich? Yeah, that is who we are. Resisting tyranny in our own government? Yeah, that is who we are.

Republican are the ones finally being exposed.

Outright Homophobes. They would deny blacks the right to vote if they could (georgia passed a poll tax, guess who runs georgia?) They clearly have no concern for the working man, wages have grown at the slowest rate in 9 years. Oh, and the pervasive corruption, ye

goaliejerry, the NSA surveillance program does not spy on innocent Americans. Why would the NSA care what non-terrorists do? Do you really think the NSA cares what some soccer mom in Idaho talks about with her friends? Do you think they put cameras in locker rooms? Of course not! That would be stupid. Italy uses the same kind of program, and just a couple of weeks ago, it foiled a terrorist plot that would have sunk a gigantic ocean liner and killed 10,000 people. They attribute this to WIRETAPS....By the way, the Democrats have already said they support the program. Their problem rests with the legality of the issue. Personally, I don`t care if its illegal as long as they spy on people who talk with terrorists and not innocent people. Remember, many other presidents have used the same program, but without the uproar......opiebreath, I like their ideals, but I hate the actual Democrats because they contradict everything they say. Did any of you watch the real speech?

Find a video of the speech and watch Hillary Clinton. Watch the Democratic side of the aisle. You`ll see what I`m talking about....By the way, I`m getting really tired of this myth that Bush cares only about the rich. The tax cuts for the rich are perfectly justified because the rich pay almost all the tax revenue! The top 10% of income earners pay 80% of the total tax revenue! This is obviously unfair. The more income you earn, the greater percentage of your income goes to taxes. Middle class citizens usually pay between 10 and 25 percent of their income to taxes. The lower class citizens pay between 0 and 5 percent of their incomes to taxes. The upper class income earners pays between 30 and 50 percent of their incomes to taxes. Are you getting the picture here? We should have one flat sales tax. The income tax is unjust because it punishes people for being successful and promoting capitalism.

About the homophobia and racist remarks, those are bogus. EVERY SINGLE RACIST I have met in my entire life has been a liberal Democrat. I do not deny that some Republicans are homophobic, but there are those on the left who hate gays, too. I once heard of a Democratic state congressman in the northeast who screamed "FAGGOT!" repeatedly at an opponent. Almost all the homophobes on the right are deeply religious. I, however, am not a racist or a homophobe. If you want to see racism, just look at the way Democrats talk about blacks. Hillary, while talking to a black audience, said Congress was being run like a plantation and she said "You know what I`m talking about." Affirmative action, which Democrats support, insults blacks. It rests on the assumption that blacks cannot achieve anything on their own. By the way, President Bush has more minorities in his cabinet than any other president in history.

Finally, we move on to Social Security. The baby boom generation, the largest in history, is retiring. This means that a lot more money will be drawn from than contributed to Social Security, which is already in deep financial trouble. It is estimated that baby boomers will receive only 70% of what they were promised from Social Security. Privatizing a part of Social Security would allow people much greater control over their retirement money. The classic Social Security program would still work the same way as it usually does. The only difference would be that people would be able to put money into their Social Security fund. Basically, Bush`s program simply attaches a piggy bank to each person`s Social Security fund. I think it is slightly redundant, but it may encourage people to save their money and rescue themselves from possible future crises.

I know, I know, I overdid it. Sorry, but I can`t just stand by and let the ignorance spread any further. I think the main reason Bush`s approval ratings have been dropping is that people just don`t know what is going on. If people simply paid closer attention and researched controversial topics, they could form their own opinions instead of regurgitating whatever NBC anchors tell them.

Not only did the Democrats show their true colors during the State of the Union but also with the Alito vote.
Half the democrats didnt vote or werent there, and the rest voted `Ney`, not because Alito isn`t qualified, whic is all the should consider, only because he was nominated by Bush. When Clinton nominated a known liberal she was still voted in with over 90%, because she was qualified..even though she was against republican views.

In the State of the Union the democrats actually gave a standing ovation to themselves for bringing no ideas to the table for social security. The president ask them to bring their ideas if they dont like his plan..they didnt, they sat on their butts and got paid for doing nothing..
ALso..who invites an activist to a State of the UNion speech? A democrat.. Cindy Sheehan was arrested for being loud and disruptive..she actually threw a banner over the railing! WTH! WHoever invited her should be ashamed of themselves.

    *Yawn* Same old tired remarks.

"Personally, I don`t care if its illegal as long as they spy on people who talk with terrorists and not innocent people."

See, we do care about such trivial things as legalitys.

Hillarys plantation remark was apt. House republicans strongarm disenters in their party into supporting unpopular legislation, Delay was aptly nicknamed "The Hammer."

"It rests on the assumption that blacks cannot achieve anything on their own." Again, tired, this is a typical vieled comment similar to saying "why can`t we just all be color blind?" Maybe because its a fact that if you look at the relative economic and educational success of whites vs blacks and hispanics, there are huge gaps between the races? Why?

"Privatizing a part of Social Security would allow people much greater control over their retirement money." And it would also funnel money that would normally go towards govt support and into the coffers

of wall streets largest corporations. No wonder Republicans support the notion. They really, deep down, just want to starve the federal government until it provides no safety net for its citizens at all.
    Yawn, same old typical replys.
"The top 10% of income earners pay 80% of the revenue"

Not actually, its more like 65%, but how important are facts anyways?

Talk about seeing what you want, Hillarys plantation remark had nothing to do with race, instead she was refering to Republicans total lack of respect for disent and the minority party.

Again, a lovely attempt to muddle the issue in the minds of the disinterested, but her referance had nothing to do with race. Like I said you guys sure know how to decieve.

if you look closely...giving tax breaks to the rich is actually a good move. what are the rich going to do with the money they save??? Invest it?? strengthens our economy and creates jobs...or maybe spend it...higher demand for comumer goods....creates jobs... or if they just save it?? The bank loans that money to existing or start up companies...hmmm creating jobs... see a trend here? Take a basic Macro/Micro Economics class and you will leazrn that.

Her remark was racist not necessarily because she used the word plantation, but because she used it in a room full of blacks and then drove the point home with "You know what I`m talking about."....renob151, I don`t believe anyone should be forced to give their hard-earned money to people who cannot or will not earn their own. They did know what she was refering too. She was refering to the point that republicans screw minoritys over as a matter of party policy. There is a good reason that only 11% of blacks voted for Bush.

"How would you feel if you just got your paycheck after a long, hard day of work, and suddenly a government agent stops you and takes away some of your money and gives it to a bum who spent all his money on drugs?"

Because, in the Republican mind, you have to be lazy and stupid and on drugs in order to be poor, right? There is no other reason one might be down on their luck, (well, unless their job has just been exported) because after all, those tax cuts are sure stimulating job growth!

And here is trickle down economics in a nutshell. I`m rich, let me keep my money, and then I can hire more maids, and pay more people top keep my shoes shiny, and I`ll need someone to drive me around, and everyone is better off!

It is easy to feel better than someone if you make up all of his beliefs for him. I do not believe and did not intend to imply that all poor people are in the lower income brackets because of personal failure. My point was that it is not fair for someone to be forced to donate to the poor. I mentioned the bum because a large portion of the poor DID get that way because of mistakes they have made, such as dropping out of school, taking drugs, and refusing to seek employment.....About the tax cuts, every financial expert I have heard of is saying the tax cuts have spurred economic growth. Here is how it works: The taxes of the rich and middle class are cut. This means people get to keep more of their own money. When people have more money, they tend to spend more money. Because this money goes directly into the market instead of the welfare black hole, the economy grows. Last I heard, the economy was growing at a rate of 3.9%.

Doppel I`d like to address one of the points you made. You say that tax cuts on the rich can help boost the economy. This is true in theory but in reality, if the rich just keep getting richer, where is their money going to come from? The taxes that everyone pays go out to politicians, govt. facilities, etc. These people spend their money on taxes (recycling the money) as well as buying products sold by corporations. The more this happens, the rich just continue to get richer and the poor will continue to get poorer. This ultimately could cause our economy to collapse, as it did in the twenties (the middle class is relatively poorer and sells stock more frequently -> massive panic.) Giving tax breaks to the poor instead of the rich means that the economy may not grow as quickly but it would be much more stable. Instead of a few people spending a lot of money, everyone would spend a more moderate amount in corperations and taxes, the govt has more funds and our economy is sta

You know, twisting his words to make it sound like he hates Americia is a very poor parody. Bush LOVES America. TO DEATH. If you can`t see that, then you`re an idiot. And if you`re so desperate for jokes that you can`t put together a decently ironic frankenspeech, then you`re just wasting everyone else`s time.

I`ll say it again that I don`t like Bush and that I did not vote for him -- but just because I don`t like him that doesn`t mean that I have to like this idiotic junk by default.

joseffstalin, giving tax breaks to the poor would not help much because the poor pay almost no taxes. Those poor who do pay taxes pay amounts that are miniscule compared to even their small incomes. Also, I don`t think I see how the poor can get poorer just from people buying from corporations and paying less tax money. The only way the poor are affected by taxes overall is when tax revenue is given to them in the form of welfare. As odd as it sounds, lowering taxes actually has the effect of increasing the total tax revenue collected by the government. Because there is so much more money to be spent by the people, this money can be taxed more when it is held and taxed when it is spent. However, you are correct in that the rich will get richer, but that is an obvious effect of reducing taxes. Besides, there is nothing morally wrong with being rich....Anyway, thank you, joseffstalin, for managing to present a point without pelting me with lies and insults.

I`ll concede that it was well done. Poor taste, but well done. From there on... retarded. I`m not debating politics though, because debating politics on online forums is useless. Sorry Doppel and goaliejerry, you`re just wasting keystrokes on each other. As for the rest of you, get the facts, not from CNN or Fox News, but from sources that have nothing to gain by pushing a certain perspective.

D.E.M.O.C.R.A.T.S (Devoted Earthly Members of Cynical, Radical and Terrorist Societies). I know this was whole thing was meant to be a joke, but how many times are we going to see some moron disrespect our elected President (Two terms biotch!) by messing with the his words? Are democrats too blind in their self centered search for power, to be able to acknowledge any good this President has done for the country?

Just once, and I mean once, I’d love to see a democrat mention a single good thing that this administration has done for our country? Maybe this is a glimpse into the true nature of democrats? Why do democratic leaders spend all their time bitching and moaning about the administration, but never spend any time trying to help fix problems. Is this because they want to see Bush fail just like the terrorists do? Is that the type of leaders we want in the White House running our country?

Democratic leaders only care about their own agenda, and could give a rat’s

....ass about what messages their sending terrorist through their disrespect for our Nation’s leader. Hell, murderer Ted Kennedy probably spends his time thinking of ways that he could hand Bush over to the terrorist. Possibly President nominee Hillary Clinton hates men ever since Old Bill got busy in the Oval office with Monica w, so it’s not a surprise she spends her waking hours slandering Bush. Are these so called leaders that prideful, selfish, vindictive, evil, childish, idiotic, brainwashed, to even acknowledge one single good thing the leader of our country has done?

wow....extreamist morons. President Bush sucks, but it could have been worse. and all the economy stuff is bull, either way theres downsides, and considering the top 10% of us citizens own roughly 71% of the wealth it seems fair they pay the most in taxes...

    "wow....extreamist morons. President Bush sucks"

IS their a reason you hate Bush? I mean that the rest of us can understand. I don`t normally hate people because someone told me too...I tend to make up my own mind....Just thought I`d ask.

this is all one sided, democrats are evil, republicans are evil, now, dont get me wrong, im so far right, i forget where the left is sometimes. lets us all look at the good, and the bad of what bush did. Good) trying to create a flat tax, this will lower the taxes for the majority of people and make them pay there fair share. Preemtive strike against terrorism in iraq, now, there may not be any proof i know of that terrorist were in iraq, but if you dont think they were, you should be shot on sight. Also, the left screams about world peace and people to stop bush from having a dictatorship (which he doesnt) yet when we go to help a nation where its leader is killin millions of innocent people in iraq, all of you say that bush is a monster, we had to go back to finish what we started in the first golf war. and we did, but we gotta stay there to stop illegal weapon trafficing (its in the middle of the middle east, between syria and iran, you know their trafficing weapons.)

Now, i aint gonna put anymore good poo up there, however, i could, bu im to lazy so lets look at the bad. He wants a open drating border with mexico, now i live 50 miles from mexico in arizona, little place call Sierra Vista, and the problem out here are BAD. Sometimes i think he should be impeached for thinking that and get some one like reagan in office again (the best president known to mankind). He did make the mistake of thinking that Iraq were building WMD`s i know they werent cause Isreal was heading over there in F-16`s and bombing is WMD plants, so they couldnt build them, he should come out and say that him, the american people, and congress was misinformed about the war, however, was the war stupid, no, we are fighting dictatorships and terrorism, and you know So Damn Insane was involved in it. Also, mismanagement with our tax money, gots to fix it, cause i know Reagan could. He also has to stand for what he believes in, I think he is a little to gina sometimes

The fact that that gone on here is pathetic!! Freedom of speech is one thing, but to say our flag stands for terrorism is rediculous! When there is a world crisis who is the first on the scene? What country offers more charity to the world? Not looking for a pat on the back, but flipping it completely around is plain senseless.

Hey CacaPUNYETA...your family is of the devil and I`m pretty sure they are idiots, worst family in the world and probably all terrorist. Oh yeah, they caused hurricane Katrina too.

I can say these things because of freedom of speech, and if you don`t like it than you don`t have a sense of humor.

Do you get the point I`m tying to make here, or should we just continue to make fun of the leaders of our country? Using a false blanket of "I`m only kidding", or "It`s just a joke" is such a pathetic way of justifying your actions.

I agree with everything Doppel has said. President Bush is a great leader, and an accomplished one at that! We have already captured one of the worlds largest threats, Saddam. Just give it a bit more time and Osama will be in our hands too. I say this one thing to you all who think that America or Bush is doing the wrong thing, Did you have a family member or friend die in the attacks against the US? I am not just talking about the 9/11 attacks. They have been attacking us for years and now we actually have someone with the nuts to go after those cowards, those bastards who wont even show their faces when they take a hostage and then cut their heads off.
