Eh... in reading the one on Chicago, the guy is pretty wrong about a handful of stuff. Apparently, Chicagoans are supposed to be real touchy about New York comparisons, but I don`t know anyone who gives two sh*ts about New York. Plus he said the "El" is for El Camino... when actually "The El" is for the elevated train around the Loop.

Don`t bother reading. Seems to be written by people who spent maybe, a day, in each city or worse reading a tourist website.

yeah I agree with littleoracle...the people who wrote it were rather odd...and there`s plenty of nice people new york city not all of them are stand-offish. you get good and bad people everywhere you go. and people speak all kinds of languages in new york you have the sections...the italien section etc...

The citizen guides are pretty damn funny. The people who have reviewed them so far have a limited sense of humor and their critisms are week. I love to hear someone thrash a guide writer, but I`m not buying this. The writer of the Chicago guide has lived in Chi-town for the past 10 years and is the author of the best dive bars in Chicago. The "El" comment is a joke and my guess is the Italien`s in NYC must have abducted your ass and placed a stupid chip in your brain. Oh yeah, I wrote the NYC guide and I stand by my words that people in NYC are stand-offish. It helps you to avoid getting stabbed by heroin junkies on your way back to the East Village.
