It could properly not be his fault. I myself I have a disorder about different foods. If i try something new I automatically become sick, so i`m stuck to only a few types of foods. He COULD have been the same.

This is more than just junk food. This is a severe obsessive compultion disorder. He would only eat one brand of sliced bread and occationally one brand of beans and fries, usually from McDonalds. He was 20 and he wouldn`t deal with it. That`s not the parent`s fault anymore. He should have been seeing a shrink.

When I was a kid, we didn`t eat all of this doodie. We had to eat our veggies- even the yucky ones like mashed squash (i just threw up a little-gack.) We either ate it or else- there was no negotiation or bribes unless you count "I`ll smack the white off of you if you don`t eat"

Y`know, I had a similar situation with my gramma`s cat, Razzle... she wouldn`t eat anything but tuna mixed with olive oil and warmed in the microwave.

Wanna know how I solved her picky eating?

I DIDN`T FEED HER THE TUNA! Yeah, turns out after three days of turning her nose up at the crunchy kitty food, she got hungry enough that the distinction no longer seemed so great.

May all of us resolve not to be as retarded and opt for a salad instead of a big mac the next time we go to McDonalds...

To the parents of this dumbass child:
When all else fails, shovel the food into his mouth. I mean, when I was little I didn`t like vegetables much, but my parents decided to educate me too about what would happen if I didn`t have vegetables. Whenever I had a stomachache (constipation sort of thing) it`s my lack of veggies.

Anyway, now I love fruits. It`s both their faults, though I blame the parents for not correcting him in early life, and I blame him for just continuing his ways after probably knowing the health risks.

Whether it`s fake or not, there`s still plenty of people out there who eat like that. And if it is true, it`s just another arguement I have for the need to have a license before you have kids.

the doctors killed him if they knew his blood wqasnt clotting, but he could have saved himself. why the hell would they put holes in the guys gums if they knew he would bleed out? the may have been able to fight an infection different ways, but surgery, even just getting teeth pulled, on him was negligent. the guy made himself sick though, and the parents sure helped. they should have taught them that fat, simple carbs, and occasional incomplete protiens is not a diet that will keep you alive and healthy. of course, the guy was 20 and should have learned that on his own eventually. he wouldnt even take vitamins to save his own life! i can see being scared of a liver transplant (though if its life or death at the age of 20 you should probably face your fears), but who turns down vitamins?!

im not so sure this is true. even though there are 6 types of a hepatitis, they are all caused by a virus. the diet may have made him more prone to infection, but it seems like it would have been the hepatitis that did it. he could have died if he got a paper cut, so why would the doctors pull teeth? the kid would have had to seea doctor before he was 20, and no doctor could ignore the fact he was malnourished. also, it said he didnt always eat the beans. white bread and french fries dont give much in the way of fiber, so he would be having some bowel problems before he was 20. why would he turn down nutritional supplements (mistake on calling them vitamins, probly some supplement shake) if he was too scared for those supplements and the liver transplant, but consent to oral surgery?

It was his fault and his parents fault.
His fault: he was grown up enough to know how to live by himself (but he was an idiot)
His parents fault: They didn`t knew how to smack the stupid kid in the face, because, face it, he really needed to wake up to life. What kind of parents can even allow it to come this far?

It`s intersting though, that his weight was tremedous, only what, 223? assuming he`s 5`10, that gives him a BMI of 32, which is obese, but still!

I guess it shows the importance of a reasonably balanced diet.

Technically, only the kid can win a Darwin Award, but I think the parents could get an honorable mention.

Honestly, what kinds of lazy **** are you when you can`t even get your kid to eat vegtables? If you can`t do that much, you don`t deserve to be a parent. It`s not that hard. Get help. Get a life. Wow.

*sigh* And you can bet the health freaks are going to use this to their advantage. Next thing you know, he`ll be a boy who ate chips once a day, and died a horrible death for being a pig *sigh again* Balence, people. What is wrong with the world?

OK - 1st of all, in the article, it said his blood did not clot because of his diet. When he went to get his tooth pulled, it bled & didn`t stop because his blood didn`t clot.

I completely blame the parents. Here is why - when parents feed their babies, common sense would tell them to try to feed them everything healthy (veggies, fruits, etc..) Sometimes, a baby and/or child will refuse to eat it. In that case, wait a little bit & try again. If they just try to make the baby try it one time then gives up, the child, more than likely, will grow up not liking it. My guess is the parents eat alot of junk food & other crap & never encouraged their child to eat fruits & veggies like a parent with common sense would. Sorry to go on & on, but that is my reasoning behind this. I think the parents should be charged with some kind of neglect.

What decent parent would feed or let their kids live on a diet like that. Someone should take their other kids away and put the parents in jail. - btw, pass me the bean dip for my chips/fries, please.

I think they meant UK Chips because it said McDonald`s chips. Anyway how the hell could you only eat fries, toast, and beans? What a shi*ty way to die... Bleeding from the removal of 3 teeth.

Is this story true? Reminds me of those stupid news papers with headlines like "Alien monkey baby born to Gay Man" lol. Anyway, I eat too much fast food too I guess, although I have had 0 cavities or any kind of tooth problems...bleeding to death from your teeth sounds dumb, that would only happen if you were on blood thinners...which he could have been if he had heart problems..blah..blah..blah..next

He`s not exactly a kid now, is he. I`d say he was one dumbass adult when he died.

I agree that the blame is both on himself and the parents. Baby doesn`t like vegetables? Too darn bad. Ever hear of "You can`t leave the table until you finish your food!"

People need to stop mollycoddling their children.

His parent`s are retarded. The kid is a just a victim of stupidity. His own and his parent`s as well.

Some people should not procreate. 1 retard+1 retard = 1 retard. (sometimes 2 or more).

The moral of this story is, stupid parents = stupid kids.

il be the one to say it...the blame is on both the parents and that idiot kid. he deserved to die for being so freaking stupid. i dont pity him or his family. i just cant..its impossible. they "tried" to get him to eat healthy foods? wtf is that? you dont try to get ur 2 year old kid to eat healthy ffs. people like that just urk me >.< </rant>

Depends if you mean chips like US chips (ie potato chips/crisps) or UK chips (fries). And cruxshadows, beans ARE healthy but not when you`re eating them for most meals every day, ya know? Anything including water is bad for you if you have too much.
