The trick is to focus your attention to the big states such as Texas, California, Florida and New York. Win these states and you win the election, never mind luck.

Not necessarily. It takes several tries through the game to figure out which responses to problems work out the best for you. Clicking the wrong thing has nothing to do with luck. Every situation has right and wrong answers. The luck I mentioned concerned the things you have no control over, such as where on the board you land and what happens when you land on a good luck/bad luck space.

Well, somehow I was winning in the majority then lost coz of me clicking on the wrong one. So, if what you say is true, I have "the world`s worst luck"

ten 10, having a fundraiser against your stated position has no effect on poll results. It affects only the amount of money you receive at the fundraiser. If the fundraiser directly contradicts your position, you get no money. If you are neutral on the issue at hand, you get some money, but not nearly as much as you would have gotten if you had campaigned on that issue. Polls are affected by the amount of money you spend in the campaign, debates, luck, news, and skeletons in the closet. If you understand how the game works and you do not have the world`s worst luck, you should win nearly every time.

324 to 212. I think, I exited out. It wasn`t very exciting. Won though.

I lost so badly.... But I supported all the good stuff... I think it`s coz I accidently went against my original policies right before the election... I clicked on it then realised my mistake.

Yes, even an Idiot can grow up to be President one day:

He was btw republican and also had some of the same views as Dubya.

icephalt24 is right. I won nearly every time just by campaigning in states with large numbers of electoral votes and spending a lot of money.

Its not really hard if you know what you are doing. It all comes down to what states you campaign in and not having absolute horrible luck on the game board. When I played it the computer kept campaigning in Vermont, Alaska and the like, all states with 4 or 5 electoral votes. WIth the same effort I can secure 10 times that by winning over California. Hammer away at states with the most electoral votes.

If I were president, my first act of office (or whatever) would be to take the learning out of games. What I mean is, is there actually something fun about politics? Cuz I ain`t feeling it.

NIkkI, George W. Bush is a Republican. Jon1984, the odds of a Democrat winning in Texas are pretty much a google to one, thanks to former House majority whip Tom DeLay (who`s from my district, lucky me). He made it virtually impossible for a Democrat to be elected dogcatcher, much less a higher office in Texas. He`s on the 2005 Mugshots of the Year site that was on here a while ago, #12 I think. 8-)

I tried being both a democrat and a republican, I won both ways. So i doubt this thing is "favored" in one way or the other.

Best score so far: 440 to 96, or 82% of the vote. My candidate is Jose Ginglesmith.

Great game, but it really annoys me that the game is fixed so you always land on the `milestone` spaces (as this lets you have a `learning experience`). I`d much rather play longer than learn!
