Link: Microsoft Map Bird`s Eye View - Check out the ``Bird`s Eye View`` thing. The detail level is incredible.

Once you get it in Bird`s Eye mode (this works in Los Angeles, for example) you can switch your angle by clicking the compass thing on the left.

pretty cool, but google earth basically gives you the same thing, and it is alot easier to navitgate, and the birds eye view thing is limited to large cities, prefer google earth over this

This sucks. Why would they even bother after Google did it right. At least make the product close to "as good as"

The map pictures are SO old. The houses around me were built 8 years ago, and they`re not there.

    Use GoogleEarth, nuff said.

Microshaft is afraid of Google and is trying to catch up and compete on the same level. Stick with Google Earth.

Google Earth is fine for bigger places, but around my area, you can`t zoom in much at all. With this one I can zoom in up to a block or two in my town.

This has much higher resolution than google earth does for my neighborhood as well. You can realy see a lot of detail on full zoon bird`s eye mode.

I gotta give microsoft props on this one. If they could make this national like google earth and improve the navigation a bit, they`d have me hooked. Microsofts`s resolution is like twice that of google earth. If they can improve on this, i think they can give google a run for their money in the map department.

Love google earth but i think they both have their good points and bad, they are just different. Resolution is better on the microsoft one and it loads quicker, but it`s harder to use.
Also too Americanised - searched for Birmingham and the english one isn`t even on the search results!

10236 Charing Cross Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90024 is the Playboy Mansion. For some reason, when you put that address in, it is just off the mansion to the side a bit. If you follow my directions in the original post, you see the mansion. Just thought it was fun to see how big it was and all the pools and tennis courts.

Wow, the Pentagon is HUGE! And the White House doesn`t have a roof for some reason. I really can`t see the Grand Canyon, and I also can`t find my grandma`s house! I guess people who live in rural areas aren`t important enough to be shown on the map... ;-/

I still think Google maps is better, the Microsoft one can`t even zoom in to my general neighbourhood in good detail, with Google I could go to my block.

    Yeah, lookup the white house:
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500
And put it in birds-eye view. The feds messed
with stuff all over the place on that view.
