After his FIFTY yard kick, it was revealed that $1 million will be paid out in yearly $25,000 instalments for 40 years.

When the contest was first announced, Wendy’s just said that the winner will receive $1 million tax-free.

Bastards! That’s the last time I ever eat at their cheap-a$$ restaurant.

    BSR,

how do you convert Canadian yards to US yards? It never said meters. I believe it was an actual 50 yard kick.

check your sad little dollar, BSR...it is worth a great deal more than that! hahaha lol! seriously, though...to stretch the payments out to 40 years is pretty sad. If Dave Thomas were still around, he would have handed the guy a cheque for a million dollars and that would have been then end of that. I miss Dave Thomas. I had a chance to speak with him once and he seemed like a helluva nice guy.

According to the Bank of Canada web site:

    $1,000,000.00 Canadian equals
$849,545.49 US as of Oct. 28, 2005 (noon)
or $21,238.67 US per year for the next 40 years. Hardly enough to retire on, but I`d take it.

    ^^sure, I`d take it...but what if you were 50 or 55?

Imagine loosing a bet for $1000, then saying you`ll give them $1 a year for 1000 years. You`d get your head bashed in.

It`s free money either way you look at us. All of us could use an extra $20,000 a year. He can wait only four short years and then buy a Porche.

Read it in the paper. But I don`t like the way they`re giving him the money. I would want all my 1 Million bucks right away. Wendys sucks.

Actually I don`t think we can blame Wnedy`s for this. It`s the insurance underwriters and lawyers that suck. Wendy`s is just the sponser, it`s not their million bucks.

you guys need to watch Springer. . .every other commercial is for companies that will pay out your dividend settlements. Sure they`ll probably give him about 60% of it, but if he invested he would still make more than what they`re paying him per year

problem is that in 20 years 20 grand will be worth half of what it is now. In 40 20 grand will be worth nothing and will probably only be able to buy him a crack rock or a bj from a cheap tranny hooker.
